About GMCET 2025

GMCET 2025 registration process commenced online and will close on January 20, 2025. If want to take the exam, apply on the official website gmcet.org. To assist the students, we have provided a direct link to the GMCET 2025 registration portal below.   The GMCET entrance exam will be administered in May 2025, with the results being announced in June 2025.

Students aspiring to enroll in Journalism and Mass Communication courses through GMCET can fill out their application forms. Prior to submitting their applications, candidates had to register on the website. Every participant in GMCET 2025 must carefully review the eligibility criteria. 

Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET), previously known as the All India Media Entrance Test (AIMCET), is the institution and university-level entrance examination conducted to offer admissions into undergraduate media courses, such as BJMC (Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication), BA-JMC (Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication), BMC (Bachelor of Mass Communication), BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media), BA (Media & Communication), BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies), BSc (Media Technologies), and BSc (Animation & Graphics).

GMCET was first conducted by the Global Media Education Council (GMEC) in 2021. The exam is powered by edInbox, the largest education-focused platform in South Asia. GMCET evaluates the communication skills as well as logical and analytical reasoning of the candidates. GMCET 2025 Conducting Body

The Global Media Education Council (GMEC) is responsible for conducting GMCET. The mass communication & journalism exam is the first of its kind initiative held by the Global Media Education Council. Earlier, GMCET exam was known as All India Media Common Entrance Test (AIMCET). Global Media Education Council started conducting the GMCET exam in 2021.

GMEC is a global professional body of practitioners, media educators, departments of universities, and media institutes. The council works as a bridge among the three stakeholders, which are learners (trainees), media educators (institutes), and the industry (recruiters).

GMCET 2025 Application Process(Ongoing)

Candidates willing to appear for the GMCET 2025 exam need to fill out the application form available on the official website. Every detail you enter in the registration form must be correct and valid. Here's how you can register for GMCET 2025:

  • Visit the official website- www.aimcet.in.
  • Fill in your details in the 'Application Open 2025' box on the right side of the homepage.
  • Click on 'Submit' and you will receive an automated email with a Username and Password on your registered email ID/phone number.
  • Now log in to the official portal again using the Username and Password provided.
  • Complete the registration by entering all the required details.
  • Submit the application fee (Rs. 1000) through Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/UPI.
  • You will receive the Application Form Summary on the GMCET profile page and registered email ID.
  • Download the Application Form Summary and take a printout for future reference.

GMCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To appear in the GMCET 2025 exam, a candidate needs to fulfill certain GMCET 2025 eligibility criteria set by Global Media Education Council (GMEC). Here's what a student needs to have:

  • Minimum education qualification of Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent Education with at least 50% aggregate marks for General Category & 45% for SC/ST/OBC.
  • Candidates appearing for Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent Education and awaiting results.
  • A 3 or 4-year diploma from AICTE approved university with a minimum of 50% marks.

GMCET 2025 Syllabus

The Global Media Education Council (GMEC) has not specified the GMCET 2025 Syllabus. But, as per the official website, the exam will comprise four sections:

  • English Language & Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
  • General Knowledge of News & Current Affairs
  • Entertainment Media Knowledge
  • Brands & Brand Communication Basic Knowledge

Some questions will be asked related to the course a student is applying for. There will be objective-type questions in the paper. Candidates should prepare each of these sections well to qualify for the GMCET 2025 exam.

GMCET 2025 Exam Pattern

GMCET exam duration is 60 minutes in which a candidate has to attempt 100 multiple choice questions. For every correct answer, 1 mark is awarded and the best thing is that there is no negative marking. The exam is for a total of 100 marks. There were four sections with 25 questions in each- English Language & IQ, Entertainment Media Knowledge, General Knowledge of News & Current Affairs, and Brands & Brand Communication Basic Knowledge. GMCET 2025 Admission Process

Candidates appearing for GMCET 2025 and seeking admission to undergraduate courses in Journalism and Mass Communications have to follow the process mentioned below:

  • Based on a candidate's score in the GMCET 2025 exam, they will be called for an interview. Candidates who qualify for the interview round will further participate in counseling.
  • Selected candidates will then have to appear for counseling in the universities they have applied for admission. After that, they have to complete the admission formalities and pay the fee for the course.

GMCET 2025 Result

GMCET 2025 results will be released on the official website of the Global Media Common Entrance test. Students who qualify for the exam will be called for a personal interview and the selected ones will then further proceed to the counseling round.
