Allahabad University PGAT Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates wanting to appear in the Allahabad University PGAT 2022 entrance should be completely aware of the information which is related to the eligibility criteria. Allahabad University PGAT Eligibility for Subject Candidate

The candidates who have appeared in or passed the final examination of his/her graduation or  any other equivalent examination with any of the subjects mentioned in List I, List II, List III and List IV as one of the compulsory subjects in the final year of graduation are considered to be subject candidates. These candidates are considered to be eligible to appear for the entrance.

Allahabad University PGAT Eligibility for Non-Subject Candidate

Candidates who have appeared in or passed the final examination of his/her graduation or any other equivalent examination without any of the subjects mentioned in List I, List II, List III and List IV as one of the compulsory subjects in the final year of graduation are considered to be non-subject candidates. 

Candidates who do not qualify as a subject candidate and apply for courses in Hindi/ English / Medieval and Modern History/ Ancient History/Philosophy/Political Science/Education/ Defence Studies but is applying as a Subject Candidate for two courses in the subjects allotted to the applicant in the final year of his/her graduation or its equivalent out of the subjects mentioned in List I, List II, List III and List IV excluding Hindi, English, Medieval and Modern History, Ancient History, Philosophy, Political Science, Education, Defence Studies can opt for admission in a course in Hindi/ English/ Medieval and Modern History/ Ancient History/ Philosophy/ Political Science/ Education/ Defence Studies as a Non-Subject Candidate along with exemption from appearing in the respective PGAT-2021 test mandatory for corresponding Subject Candidates. The merit of the candidates who belong to this category will be calculated on the basis of average marks scored by the candidates in the two PGAT 2021 test for which they are subject candidates.

Similarly, applicants who do not qualify as a Subject candidate for the courses in the field of Sociology/Psychology but is applying as a Subject Candidate for two courses in the subjects allotted to the applicant in the final year of his/her graduation or its equivalent out of the subjects mentioned in List I, List II, List III and List IV excluding Sociology and Psychology can opt for admission in a course in Sociology/Psychology as a Non-Subject Candidate along with exemption from appearing in the respective PGAT-2019 test mandatory for corresponding Subject Candidates provided he/she has scored 60% or above in his/her graduation. The merit of the candidates who belong to this category will be calculated on the basis of average marks scored by the candidates in the two PGAT 2020 test for which they are subject candidates. 

The candidates who are not qualified to be identified as a Subject candidate for a course in Economics but has applied as a Subject Candidate for two courses in the subjects allotted to the applicant in the final year of his/her graduation or its equivalent out of the subjects mentioned in List I, List II, List III and List IV excluding Economics can opt for admission in a course in Economics as a Non-Subject Candidate along with exemption from appearing in the respective PGAT-2019 test mandatory for corresponding Subject Candidates provided he/she had either Mathematics and Statistics as subjects in the final year of his/her graduation or Economics as one of the three subjects of his/her graduation. The merit of these candidates will be calculated on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in two of the PGAT 2020 tests for which they can be considered as subject candidates.

Allahabad University PGAT Reservation Policy 2022

The reservation policy for Allahabad University PGAT 2022 has been provided by us in the pointers below:

  • The reservation of seats for this particular examination is based according to the regulation of MHRD regulations which will be applicable on the date of declaration of Allahabad University PGAT 2022 results.

  • 3% of the total seats will be reserved for the candidates who are physically challenged. The reservation can be divided as - 1% Hearing impaired, 1 % visually impaired and 1 % Orthopaedic disability and cerebral palsy.

  • 10% of the total seats available will be reserved for the candidates who belong to the economically weaker sections of the society (EWS). 

  • There is a sports quota under which the candidates who have participated in Inter-University/Open National/National/International games recognised by the respective Sports Board can apply. It is to be noted that there is no provision of sports quota in the courses mentioned in List V.

  • 5% of the total seats will be reserved for the candidates who are wards of teachers or employees of the University of Allahabad Campus or any of the colleges affiliated under the particular varsity.

  • The qualifying marks for the candidates who belong to the General Category is 30% whereas the minimum marks for the applicants belonging to Other Backward Classes is 27%.
