AP RCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

AP RCET 2025 eligibility criteria has been prescribed by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The detailed notification for AP RCET 2025 exam will be released by APSCHE in February 2025, which will mention the specialization-wise AP RCET eligibility criteria 2025. The AP RCET Committee has the final authority and they may include, combine, separate, or drop any of the disciplines with proper reasoning if they feel necessary.

Note: AP RCET 2025 exam will be held for the academic year 2024-2025. If you apply for AP RCET 2025, you will be granted admission for the previous academic year, which is 2024-2025.

Candidates who are looking to appear for AP RCET 2025 exam must meet the AP RCET 2025 eligibility criteria to fill the application form and pursue PhD in different streams either on Full Time (FT) or Part-Time (PT) basis. Applicants of AP RCET 2025 exam must have a postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55% marks to become eligible for the exam. For the reserved category students, the minimum marks required are 45% as per AP RCET eligibility criteria 2025.

AP RCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Full-Time (FT)

AP RCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

The students must have completed a Master's Degree or any other post graduate diploma professional degree that is considered equivalent to Master’s degree. The students can also complete a Master’s program from any foreign nation whose degree is recognized and certified under a law in Home country. The degrees obtained abroad will be assessed by accrediting bodies for assuring quality and standards of educational institutions. 

AP RCET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Reservation 

The students representing SC/ST/BC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently abled categories get a relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade as decided by the competent authorities. The relaxation is also admissible to all other categories of candidates that are decided by the University Grants Commission as and when revised from time to time. These relaxations are applicable to all those students who have completed their Master’s before September 19, 1991. 

AP RCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Nationality 

The student willing to pursue PhD through AP RCET should be a citizen of India having Indian Nationality or persons of Indian Origin (PIO). The students can also be cardholders of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). The students must belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh for AP RCET eligibility criteria 2025. The students must meet and satisfy local/ Non-local status requirements as per the guidelines of Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

AP RCET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Age Criteria

There is no age limit to apply for APRCET 2025 to appear in the exam as AP RCET 2025 eligibility criteria. 

AP RCET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Qualifying Marks

The students must also have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in CGPA system. It is compulsory for the students to meet the eligibility criteria of 55% marks.

AP RCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Part-time (PT)

The students who meet the AP RCET eligibility criteria 2025 for Full Time PhD programme are also eligible to take admission in Part Time PhD program. They will have to appear for an entrance test for enrolling into a PhD program. The admission in the Part Time however will be granted in the following order of priority. The service seniority is taken into consideration for granting admission into Part-Time category in the respective categories according to AP RCET eligibility criteria 2025.

1. Regular Faculty working in the University or to the P.G. centre

2. The faculties who have completed at least 2 years of service and are working in Post Graduate and Professional colleges will be given priority.  It is very important to know that this provision is not applicable to:

Faculty teaching Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Humanities in professional colleges.

The employees who have completed two years of service and are appointed and working as Faculty/ Librarians/Assistant Librarians in affiliated degree / PG colleges.  

or

The faculties who have completed 4 years of service and are working in Polytechnic/Government or private aided junior Colleges/School.

3. The faculty who are technically working in a research institute with minimum experience of 5 years are also eligible.

How much relaxation is given to reserved category candidates in AP RCET full time course?

Faculty in Post Graduate and Professional colleges must have at least two years of experience. This provision does not apply to faculty teaching Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Humanities at professional colleges.

 

Can only Indian nationals apply for the AP RCET 2025 exam?

Candidates must be Indian nationals, persons of Indian origin (PIO), or holders of an OCI card.
