AP RCET Selection Process 2024

The Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) will shortly release the candidates eligible for interviews for the AP RCET Selection Process in 2024. The interview will be conducted for 60 marks. A candidate’s AP RCET rank will be calculated after analyzing the total marks of the test and interview. At the time of admission, candidates must meet the AP RCET 2024 eligibility criteria. To proceed with the AP RCET selection process, candidates must use the web option and select their preferred course and institute. The college will be assigned based on the marks obtained and the candidates' preferences.

AP RCET 2024 also known as Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Test is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Andhra University (AU), Visakhapatnam on the behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). Candidates who pass the written exam are invited to participate in the AP RCET interview round. To be admitted to PhD programs (full-time and part-time) at various Andhra Pradesh universities, candidates must pass all exam stages. Detailed AP RCET Selection Process 2024

Candidates are offered admission through AP RCET 2024 considering their performance in all the selection stages including the written exam as well as the personal interview. Here are all the details about the stages that aspirants encounter in AP RCET 2024 admission process:

Stage 1- Written Exam

The exam rounds start with a written exam. At first, aspirants need to take an MCQ exam in Computer-based test mode. The entrance test has a duration of 120 minutes. The test will consist of two parts- Part A & Part B. Part A will carry questions related to Teaching and Research Aptitude for 70 marks while Part B will have subject-specific questions for 70 marks. The marking scheme for the same can be seen below:

Stage 2- Viva-Voce Exam/ Oral Interview:

Candidates who have passed the written round will be called to participate in the oral interview organized by the conducting body.
This interview round will be worth 60 marks and will be considered while preparing ranks. Aspirants awaiting results for the final semester or year are required to submit a PG degree certificate at the time of interview or else they will not be considered for admission.

Stage 3: Certificate Verification:

Candidates after completing the interview round will be invited for the certificate verification or counselling round. Applicants must note that mere appearance at the AP RCET written exam and attending interviews, do not confer any right of admission. In this round, seats will be allotted only to eligible and qualified candidates.

AP RCET Qualifying Marks 2024

  • In order to participate in the interview round, candidates belonging to Category-1 and Category-II are required to secure at least 50% marks for OC category candidates and 45% marks for BC/ ST/ SC/ PWD category candidates in the written exam.
  • After passing the AP RCET 2024 for the interview, aspirants have to attend an interview of 60 marks.

Verification Documents Required for AP RCET 2024

Listed below are the several documents required to be submitted at the time of the interview/ counselling process for verification purposes. Only aspirants with the correct and adequate documents will be considered for admission through AP RCET 2024.

1. AP RCET Hall Ticket 2024

2. AP RCET Rank Card

3. Original DD of Rs. 500 drawn in the favor of Director Admissions, JNTUK, Kakinada

4. Qualifying Certificates (SSC, Intermediate, PG & UG Degree Certificates)

5. Marks Memos of the Qualifying Degrees

6. Conduct Certificate

7. Transfer Certificate

8. At least 2 Passport size photos

9. Option Form of the Candidate 

10. Supervisor or co-supervisor Acceptance form (optional)

How are Candidates Finalized for Admission through AP RCET 2024?

Aspirants appearing for AP RCET are finalized for admission based on the total marks obtained (200 marks)) in the written exam (140 marks) as well as the interview (60 marks). The reservation policies are also considered before offering any seat to the applicant.

Important Details on AP RCET Selection Process 2024

Provided below are the important details for the AP RCET 2024 admission process:

  • Shortlisted candidates will not receive separate call letters for interviews or counselling processes. A common merit list will be released, and candidates must attend the interview or counselling process on the same date sheet.
  • Attending the Interview or Counseling Process does not guarantee admission through AP RCET since more than the required aspirants are invited to participate in the interview or counseling process.
  • Students must submit a proposal in their desired area of interest or specialisation of no more than two pages. Furthermore, during the interview, the aspirants are required to present the research proposal to the selection committee via PowerPoint.
