General category candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying exam to be eligible for CG PET. The reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/female and PWD) should have a minimum aggregate of 40% marks in the qualifying exam. Applicant should not be less than 17 years to apply for CG PET.
CG PET candidates are advised to study the entire CG PET syllabus to have a higher chance of performing well in the CG PET entrance examination. While the candidates can give allot importance to the important chapters and topics which have proved to have more weightage, they are suggested not to ignore the other units.
CG PET's Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry questions are generally from the NCERT textbooks and its Chemistry questions are very easy. NCERT is sufficient for the CG PET preparation. And, if candidates are scoring well enough in their pre-boards, for example 85+ in PCM, then cracking PET is considered to be very easy.
Candidates who have prepared well for their class 12th Board Examination(irrespective of whichever board they belong to) can find the CG PET examination to be very easy. The only thing which is important to note is that the CG PET exam asks basic questions, which is why it is very important to understand the topics and their applications.
The candidate should pass in all the three subjects: Physics, Mathematics and one of the subjects from Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Chemistry with at least 45% marks. The minimum percentage of marks fixed for the SC/ST/OBC and PWD category candidates is 40%.
CPEB conducts the Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test (CG PET) annually to provide admissions to the eligible candidates into the various undergraduate engineering courses provided by the CG PET participating institutes of the state.
