CGPSC eligibility criteria were released on November 26, 2024. The official notification for the Chhattisgarh State Service Examination consisted of the CGPSC exam calendar, eligibility criteria, total number of vacancies, etc. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for the CGPSC exam to sit for this state-level examination.

CGPSC Eligibility Criteria 2025: Age Limit

As per the notification released by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, the age limit for the CGPSC exam 2025 is as follows:

  • For Non-Domicile Candidates (Non-Chhattisgarh Candidates): The minimum age limit for the non-domicile candidates is 21 years while the upper age limit should not be more than 30 years as of January 01 of the recruitment year.
  • For Domicile Candidates: Candidates who are permanent residents of Chhattisgarh must note that the lower age limit is 21 years and the upper age limit is 35 years. The CGPSC exam age limit for female candidates is the same as for other non-domicile candidates.
  • For SC/ ST/ OBC: SC/ ST/ OBC candidates who are also permanent residents of Chhattisgarh shall get a relaxation of five years in the upper age limit. For these candidates, 40 years is the upper age limit.

Other Age Limit Rules:

  • A candidate who comes under the repatriate or displaced category and belongs to the SC/ST/OBC category shall get a relaxation of eight years in the maximum or upper age limit.
  • Five-year relaxation in the upper age limit for widows.
  • Five-year relaxation in the upper age limit for Physically Handicapped candidates.

CGPSC Eligibility Criteria 2025: Nationality and Domicile Rules

According to the official notification issued by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, the nationality and domicile requirements for SSE 2025 are as follows:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidates must note that the permanent residents of Chhattisgarh will have special relaxation with respect to the age limit for CGPSC 2025. Candidates from any state can appear for the CGPSC exam. For other State candidates, no age relaxation is applicable (apart from category-wise relaxation).

CGPSC Eligibility Criteria 2025: Educational Qualification

The educational qualification required for CGPSC 2025 is as follows:

  • The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university across the country.
  • Candidates who are pursuing a final-year Bachelor’s degree can also register for the CGPSC 2025 exam. Such candidates are eligible for the CGPSC Prelims examination. The eligibility for the Mains exam depends on the candidate’s qualifying status at the Bachelor’s level. These candidates should have passed their Bachelor’s degree by June 2025.

Not all candidates are required to be eligible as per the physical standards issued by the CGPSC.
