Predict NowThe Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is responsible for laying down the HSEE eligibility criteria for the HSEE exam through which IIT Madras offers admission in its five-year integrated MA English and MA Development Studies programme. The online registration process for the HSEE 2023 exam is likely to start in March 2023. It is imperative that the aspirants go through the detailed and latest HSEE eligibility criteria before the application process begins. The HSEE 2023 application form may become available online in the second week of March 2023, with the registration deadline possibly falling in the final week of April 2023. For admission to five-year integrated Master of Arts (MA) programmes through the Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE) for the academic session 2023–2024, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is inviting applications from qualified candidates. Before the deadline, interested candidates must submit their applications for the HSEE 2023.
Candidates who are found ineligible for HSEE during any of the later stages face cancellation of candidature for the HSEE exam. The detailed HSEE eligibility criteria have been discussed in the following sections.

The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities
Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or in a foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities.
H.S.C. vocational examination.
Class XII skill courses of CBSE.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International
Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
Also,
Candidates who have completed Class XII (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII examination.
In case the Class XII examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.
To be eligible for HSEE 2023, the applicants must be born on or after 01st October 1997
The upper age limit for the SC/ST/PwD category candidates is relaxed by 05 years (applicants born on or after -1st October 1992)
Candidates from General, GEN-EWS, and OBC-NCL category must secure 60% aggregate marks (min) in the qualifying exam.
Candidates from SC, ST and PwD categories must secure 55% aggregate marks (min) in the qualifying examination
Applicants must be permanent citizens of India or must belong to the PIO/OCI category to be eligible for HSEE 2023. However, applicants from other countries can also apply under the "Foreign Candidate" category
