The IBS selection process was revised for the 2024-25 session with the addition of the Micro Presentation stage which replaced the Group Discussion round. Apart from this, the selection process remains similar to that of the previous year with the Personal Interview and selection briefing rounds. check the detailed explanation for each of the stages below:
Step 1: Welcome & Briefing Session
Your IBS selection journey begins with an introductory session where senior directors, recruiters, and alumni provide insights into IBSโs 30-year legacy in management education. This session helps you and your parents/guardians understand the selection process and what IBS has to offer.
Step 2: The Micro Presentation โ Your Moment to Shine
In this newly introduced round, you have to pick a number between 1 and 100, which determines your presentation topic. Youโll have one minute to prepare and three minutes to present your ideas before a panel and fellow aspirants. If the topic seems challenging, you can opt for a change once. This exercise tests your ability to think on your feet, articulate ideas clearly, and present with confidence. Unlike a traditional Group Discussion, there are no follow-up questionsโjust a chance to make an impact through your presentation.
Step 3: The Personal Interview โ Showcasing Your Aspirations
Following the Micro Presentation, the Personal Interview (PI) assesses your career goals, aspirations, and leadership potential. The panel isnโt just evaluating your answers but also your confidence, clarity of thought, and ability to express yourself effectively.
Step 4: Academic Performance Matters
Academic performance plays a crucial role in the selection process, with scores from 10th, 12th, and graduation contributing 50% to the final selection weightage. This ensures a holistic evaluation of each candidateโs potential.
With a fair and well-structured selection process, IBS ensures that every aspirant gets an opportunity to prove their mettle and prepare for a thriving career in management.
