Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria for M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch (Full-Time)

Here are the eligibility criteria for the Karnataka PGCET Full-Time M.Tech course -

  • Candidates should have passed the qualifying or equivalent exam from a recognized university.
  • Candidates should have a valid GATE score.

  • Candidates should have secured at least 50% marks (45% marks in QE in case of SC/ST & Category I of Karnataka candidates.

Karnataka PGCET 2025 Eligibility For ME/M.Tech/M.Arch (Part-Time)

  • Candidates should have passed the qualifying or equivalent exam from a recognized university.

  • Candidates should have secured at least 50% marks (45% marks in QE in case of SC/ST & Category I of Karnataka candidates.

In addition to this candidate after obtaining the complete degree, must have worked for not less than three years, in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission. However, the employer has to fill up the NOC duly signed by the competent authority.

Karnataka PGCET 2025 Eligibility For MBA (Full Time)

  • Candidates should have 3 years Bachelor Degree or equivalent from a recognized board/university.

  • Candidates should have secured at least 50% marks (45% marks in QE in case of SC/ST and Category I of Karnataka candidates).

Karnataka PGCET 2025 Eligibility For MBA (Part-Time)

  • Candidates should have 3 years Bachelor Degree or equivalent from a recognized board/university.

  • Candidates should have secured at least 50% marks (45% marks in QE in case of SC/ST and Category I of Karnataka candidates).

  • In addition to this, a candidate after obtaining the degree must have worked for not less than three years, in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission.

MCA

To be eligible for MCA course, students must have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognized educational located in the state for a minimum 7 years either in broken period or continuously from 1st standard to qualifying exam either continuously or in the broken period as on 1st July of the year in which the entrance test is conducted and must have appeared and passed either SSLC / 10th standard or 2nd PUC / 12th standard examination in a Government recognized institutions located in the state of Karnataka.

To be eligible, candidates will be required to have the following documents:

  • SSLC/10th Standard Marks Card
  • Candidate’s Study Certificate
  • QE Marks Card
  • 2nd PUC/12th Standard Marks Card
  • Candidate’s Study Certificate for having studied and passed the qualifying exam in Karnataka issued by the head of the institute.

ME / M.Tech

To be eligible for ME / M.Tech course, students must have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognized educational located in the state for a minimum 7 years either in broken period or continuously from 1st standard to qualifying exam either continuously or in the broken period as on 1st July of the year in which the entrance test is conducted and must have appeared and passed either SSLC / 10th standard or 2nd PUC / 12th standard examination in a Government recognized institutions located in the state of Karnataka.

To be eligible, candidates will be required to have the following documents:

  • SSLC/10th Standard Marks Card
  • QE Marks Card
  • 2nd PUC/12th Standard Marks Card
  • Caste Income Certificate (if applicable) Study certificate for either of the parent having studied at least 7 years from the head of the institute where he/she studied.

Karnataka PGCET 2025: Reservation of Seats For Karnataka Candidates

Candidates belonging to Karnataka state must note that the Karnataka PGCET 2025 reservation is made in favor of candidates who belong to the scheduled tribe (ST), scheduled caste (SC), and other backward class (OBC). As per the criteria, a candidate must produce a ‘Caste Certificate or Caste Income Certificate’ that is issued by the concerned Jurisdictional Tahsildar.

As per the Government orders, the annual income limit from `6.00 Lakhs to `8.0’ Lakhs per annum has been enhanced for claiming reservation benefit. If the candidate and his / her father’s – mother’s Gross Annual Income is below Rs.8.00 Lakhs, then they are eligible to claim the benefit of reservation under 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categories, given that candidates belonging to SC, ST & Category - I should have an Income certificate which is issued by Jurisdictional Tahasildar in the prescribed format.

The Reservation Criteria, as per the Karnataka Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission in the Hyderabad-Karnataka Region) Order, 2013 are mentioned below:

  • The Hyderabad-Karnataka Region which consists of the districts of Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Bidar, Gulbarga, and Bellary shall be regarded as the local area.

  • Candidates must note that 70% of the available seats in every course of study in any regional educational institution or a university that is located in the places referred above in the local area shall be reserved in favor of the local persons.

  • Also, 8% of the seats that are available in every course of study provided in a statewide educational institution or statewide University be allocated among the local candidates of the Hyderabad-Karnataka region.

Exemption of Fee for Category-1 Karnataka candidates
