KLEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria (3-Year & 5-Year LLB)

KLEE eligibility criteria are specified by the CEE Kerala once the notification for the application process is launched. Please note that the eligibility conditions will be separate for the offered courses. Hence candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for KLEE.

KLEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria for 3 Year LLB

KLEE 2024 eligibility criteria for 3-Year LLB are provided below -

Eligibility Criteria for Domicile Candidates

Only Indian nationals are allowed to apply. Applicants whose origin is in Kerala are eligible for any reservation.

Academic Qualification

  • Applicants applying for this course must be a graduate in any of the courses from the University of Kerala or any other Institute or University which is recognised by the University of Kerala.

  • Candidates who want to apply must have earned 45% in the aggregate in graduation. Applicants belonging to Economically backward classes must score 42% and other backward classes such as Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe just need 40% to be eligible to apply for this examination. 

  • Candidates who earned first class in graduation and post-graduation courses through distance or correspondence method of Education.

  • Applicants who completed graduation and post-graduation from an open university would not be eligible for the academic qualification. 

  • Applicants who have appeared or are appearing for the qualifying examination are eligible to apply for the entrance eligibility examination. Such applicants can apply through provisional certificates and marks of all the certificates. 

Age Criteria

There is no lower limit of age for admission to the 3 year LLB course. The upper age limit for students is decided by the Honorable Supreme Court. 

  • Total Number of Seats in Kerala 3 year LLB Entrance Exam 2023

  • The total number of seats is calculated based on the 4 government colleges and also some private self-financing law colleges

Reservation of Seats

Persons with Disabilities :

5% of the seats are reserved for all persons with physical disabilities in all Government colleges. 

Special Reservation :

  • One seat in the four government colleges has to be reserved.  The reserved categories are ex-servicemen, Children of ex-servicemen, blind candidates, sports quota, and ex-paramilitary personnel. 

  • One seat in Govt Law College Ernakulam will be reserved for candidates from Lakshadweep

  • Two seats will be reserved for the NCC quota. One seat is reserved in each of the government colleges of Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.

Mandatory Reservation: 

There are several categories of mandatory reservations such as 

  • State Merit reservation is 60% and for Socially and educationally backward, the reservation is 30%. For Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe, the reservation is 10%

KLEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria for 5 Year LLB

Here are the details for KLEE 2024 eligibility criteria for 5-Year LLB -

  • The candidate must be an Indian. Candidates from Kerala will be considered for the reservation category relaxation.
  • Applicants must have qualified the higher secondary examination from the Board of Higher Secondary Education Kerala or any other qualifying examination from any recognized University of Kerala. 

  • Candidates must have qualified the 10+2 schooling course from any recognised institute of the State or Central Government. Candidates who secure 1st class in the +12 are eligible to apply for this examination. 

  • Applicants who are appearing or already appeared for the qualifying examination will be eligible to apply for this examination. But such candidates will have to produce pass certificates. 

  • Candidates must have qualified the last qualifying examination with at least 45% marks. 

  • Applicants belonging to Economically backward classes must score 42% and other backward classes such as Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe just need 40% to be eligible to apply for this examination.

Age Criteria

  • Candidates must be 17 years old. The upper age limit for the applicants of this examination is up to the discretion of the Honorable Supreme Court.

The lower age limitation to apply for Kerala LLB 2023 5-Year LLB is 17 years as on December 31, 2023. The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India will decide the higher age limit.
