Students must have completed their 10+2 in any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts) from a board that is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or its equivalent.
According to statements released by NID DAT toppers, it is said that students should begin their preparation at least 6 months before the exam date.
No negative marking is done under the NID DAT Prelims. This is a 100 marks examination and no marks are deducted for wrong answers.
According to the official website of NID, the syllabus of the NID Exam is quite wide but some of the major topics under it are given as follows, design awareness, 3D visualization, environmental sensitivity, graphs and pictograms, memory drawing, innovation and creation, proportions and perspective, mood and theme, lateral thinking, form and function, principles of composition and more.
The National Institute of Design conducts its Design Aptitude Test in two phases, the Prelims and the Mains. The Prelims exam is divided into 2 sections and will be conducted in an offline mode. This section comprises 67 questions in total that are both objective as well as subjective in nature and the duration of the exam is 3 hours. As for the NID DAT Mains Exam, students are required to showcase their drawing and sketching skills in a span of 3 hours for a 100-mark examination.
