Odisha B.Ed 2024 Counselling Process Step-by-Step
Odisha B.Ed 2024 counselling process will be organised in 2 phases. Phase 1 will have 4 rounds of selection. Phase 2 is the waiting list admission round and will be organised depending on vacancies available. In the 4th round, the conducting authority will carry out the de-reservation of seats if eligible aspirants of a certain category are not available.
These are the major steps of the Odisha B.Ed 2024 counselling -
Updation of Marks and Choice Locking
Candidates who have completed the Odisha B.Ed 2024 application form and will appear for the entrance examination are authorised to submit graduation marks along with college/ institution choices. Please note that aspirants have to exercise choice filling and choice locking as per the schedule. Once the deadline is over, candidates will not be able to add college choices.
During the counselling process, these college choices will be taken into consideration for seat allocation.
Re-choice Locking
After submission and locking of web options, candidates will get the option for re-choice locking. During re-choice locking, aspirants can edit/ modify their choices and lock them. They can alter the priority order also keeping the college choices the same and complete the re-choice locking process.
Process of Selection and Seat Allocation
The seat allocation is done based on the Odisha B.Ed entrance exam results, seat availability in that stream and social category, and the choice of institution entered by the aspirants. Those who have not completed the graduation mark updation will be considered for the selection process. However, their rank/ merit in the selection list will be below the aspirants who have submitted their qualifying examination marks, if there is a tie because of similar scores in the entrance test.
Candidates who are allocated seats in a round as per their 1st choice of preference, will not be qualified to participate in the Slide-up process.
Fee Payment
Candidates who receive the offer of provisional admission have to pay the required fees within the specified time provided by the authorities. The fee payment has to be made in online mode. If the aspirants utilise the Slide-up and secure a seat then they have to pay the differential charges only. If the amount is less than the differential admission fee then the amount will be reimbursed to the bank account of the candidates provided in the online application form after the admission process concludes.
Download Intimation Letter
Once they make the payment, aspirants will be intimated via SMS to obtain the intimation letter. They have to obtain the intimation letter from the official website and present the same while college reporting. Along with the intimation letter, candidates have to submit the essential documents at the time of the admission process.
Intimation letter is typically communicated via the below modes -
- SMS to the registered mobile number furnished in the CAF.
- Email address.
- Whatsapp number
- Candidate login
- Notice board of the HEI where the aspirant has been chosen to take admission
Applicant Reporting
Aspirants who are on the selection list will have to report to the specified institute for admission. Those who obtain allocation and take admission in phase 1 at the B.Ed institute are not qualified to participate in phase 2 (waiting list round if organised). Please note that those candidates who have been selected in any rounds of phase 1 counselling can take part in the Odisha bed counselling 2024 for phase 2 (waiting list round).
Slide Up
The Slide-up option form will be activated in the candidate login after the candidates take admission in the allocated institute during the first selection. The aspirants have to submit OTP-based consent to be a part of the slide-up process for the subsequent counselling round. Slide-up opted students will be shifted to the B.Ed institute/ college as per the choice they added during the Odisha B.Ed choice filling.
However, this would depend on if vacancy is available in that particular institution for that stream and social category. If a candidate picks up the Slide-up option and acquires a seat in the upcoming selection round, then they have to enrol in the institution they decided on. If they fail to do so, then they will be out of the further rounds of counselling and admission.
For aspirants who provide their consent for the future counselling rounds via the Slide-up option and do not procure an allocation then their consent will be considered for the future rounds.
