Before applying for the Odisha Civil Service Examination, one needs to understand the eligibility conditions for Group A and Group B posts. If you do not meet that requirement, the commission will reject your application and choice of selection. The Odisha Public Service Commission will accept applications from candidates who fulfil the eligibility conditions mentioned in the official notification.
Educational Qualification
You must be eligible with a degree in any subject from a state-recognized or nationally recognized, or deemed to be a university by an act of parliament under section 3 of the UGC Act. Further, you have to be acquainted with the language of Odia and should satisfy one of the requirements mentioned below:
- You must have studied Odia as a subject or language up to Middle school.
- Appeared in High School Certificate or equivalent examination in a subject in which the medium of instruction is Odia.
- Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class 8 from a recognized school or educational institution.
Age Limit
Your age must be between 21 and 38 years as of January 1, 2024. This means you should be born no earlier than January 2, 1986, and no later than January 1, 2003. Age relaxations for reserved categories are applicable as per government regulations:
