OPSC Civil Services Exam 2025 Selection Process

The selection process for Group A & B services of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is based on the OPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. The exam selection process consists of three stages: Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Personality Test. The OPSC OCS 2025 application process began on January 10, 2025, and the submission deadline was February 10, 2025. Aspiring candidates were required to submit their applications via the official OPSC website. To be eligible for recruitment, candidates must successfully clear all stages of the Odisha (OPSC) Civil Services Exam 2025. OPSC Selection Process Stage 1

Firstly, the candidates will have to appear for the Preliminary exam conducted by OPSC, i.e., the OPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025. The candidates will have to clear the Prelims exam to be eligible for the subsequent rounds of the selection process. The candidates will have to score a minimum of 33% of marks in Paper II of Prelims so that his/her/theirs Paper I answer sheet can be evaluated. Once the prelims result is out, the OPSC releases a list of candidates who are shortlisted for the Mains exam, i.e., Stage 2.

OPSC Selection Process Stage 2

Candidates who qualify for the Preliminary Exam will have to appear for the OPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2025. This stage is descriptive in nature and plays a crucial role in the final selection process. To proceed to the next stage, candidates must secure the minimum cut-off marks specified by the commission. The cut-off for the Mains Exam will be determined by OPSC based on various factors such as the number of vacancies and the overall performance of candidates. Once the Mains Exam results are announced, OPSC releases a list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible to appear for the Interview or Personality Test (Stage 3).

OPSC Selection Process Stage 3

The final stage in the OPSC selection process is the Interview or Personality Test. Candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of the cut-off mark in Mains are called for an Interview. The Personality Test is conducted for 250 marks and there is no minimum cut-off fixed by commission for the Personality Test. The candidates will be selected on the basis of his/her/their performance in the Interview.

After the interview, a final selection list will be released by the commission, and the candidates who are featured in the final list of OPSC shall be considered for the recruitment.
