OPSC Civil Services Exam 2023 Selection Process

The selection process for Group A & B services of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is based on the OPSC Civil Services Examination 2023. The selection process of the exam is spread over three stages Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Personality Test. The  OPSC OCS application process is scheduled to begin on January 17, 2024, with the submission deadline set for February 16, 2024. OPSC Selection Process Stage 1

Firstly, the candidates will have to appear for the Preliminary exam conducted by OPSC, i.e., the OPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2023. The candidates will have to clear the Prelims exam to be eligible for the subsequent rounds of the selection process. The candidates will have to score a minimum of 33% of marks in Paper II of Prelims so that his/her/theirs Paper I answer sheet shall be evaluated. Once the prelims result is out, the OPSC releases a list of candidates who are shortlisted for the Mains exam, i.e., Stage 2.

Secondly, the candidates who are shortlisted after the prelims exam will have to appear for the Mains examination of OPSC, i.e., the OPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2022. The candidates will have to score a minimum cut-off mark specified by the commission to be eligible for the subsequent stage of the selection process. The cut-off for the Mains exam shall be fixed by the commission. Once the Mains Exam results of OPSC are released, the commission releases a list of candidates who are shortlisted for the Interview or Personality Test, i.e., Stage 3 of the selection process.

The final stage in the OPSC selection process is the Interview or Personality Test. Candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of the cut-off mark in Mains are called for an Interview. The Personality Test is conducted for 250 marks and there is no minimum cut-off fixed by commission for the Personality Test. The candidates will be selected on the basis of his/her/their performance in the Interview.

After the interview, a final selection list will be released by the commission, and the candidates who are featured in the final list of OPSC shall be considered for the recruitment.
