PU UGLAW Counselling 2025: PU UGLAW counselling is organised separately by the participating universities - UILS, Chandigarh, PUSSGRC Hoshiarpur and PURC Ludhiana. Initially, a tentative merit list is launched after the results and candidates can submit objections against the same. After that, the provisional merit list is provided by the conducting body.

Those who are on the merit list/ provisionally selected list have to take part in the counselling as per the schedule. To appear for the counselling, they must register their attendance at the designated centres per the stipulated dates. They have to pay the required admission fee within the deadline.

  • There are three counselling centres for PU UGLAW 2025. If candidates have filled counselling in more than one centre they need to appear separately for each counselling venue.

The counselling for PU UGLAW 2025 is entirely conducted by the conducting authority; the Panjab University. The following is how the PU UGLAW 2025 counselling process works:

  • First, the PU UGLAW results are released. Students who meet the PU UGLAW 2025 cutoff marks are put on a preliminary merit list.
  • Second, individuals whose names appear on the initial merit list must submit the PU UGLAW 2025 admission form online.
  • Third, applicants who submit the online admission form on time are assessed for inclusion in the final merit list. The names of the individuals who are eligible for counselling will appear on the PU UGLAW 2025 final merit list. The names will be listed in order of their ranks.
  • Fourth, PU publishes the counselling program. Aspirants are grouped by rank in the counselling schedule and are called for physical reporting for admission. Each group is summoned on a different date.
  • It is essential to submit the original documents and certificates for the purpose of verification. Once the process of verification is done, the documents submitted at the counselling venue will be returned.

PU UGLAW 2025 Admission Form

Applicants whose names appear on the final merit list must submit a completed PU UGLAW 2025 admission form. The form can be found online at PU UGLAW's official website. Any changes to the online form, including the category, will not be permitted once the student has submitted the form. Every applicant must identify the category for which they wish to apply on the admission form. If the category is not specified in the application, the person will only be evaluated for the General Category.

Fee Payment of PU UGLAW 2025 Counselling

If candidates are selected for the PU UGLAW 2025 counselling, they are required to submit two demand drafts for the first semester.

  • The first demand draft needs to be submitted by the candidates who have passed class 12th from Haryana School Education Board, CBSE, Himachal Board, Punjab School Education Board, ICSE Board. The DD or demand draft needs to be in favour of the Registrar, Panjab University. The fee to be paid is Rs.41,897.

  • For the candidates who have passed class 12th from other boards need to submit the first demand draft of Rs. 42,197 in favour of Registrar, Panjab University.

  • The second demand draft needs to be in favour of the Director of the respective institute and the payable fee is Rs.9,550.

PU UGLAW 2025 Counselling Final Merit List Preparation

The PU UGLAW 2025 final merit list is prepared as per the below process -

BA LLB Hons

50% weightage is given to the Entrance Test plus 50% to the qualifying examination and other allowed weightage as per rules.

B.Com LLB Hons 

50% weightage is granted to the marks scored in the PU UGLAW 2025 test, and rest half weightage as per the marks scored in qualifying examination and special importance to commerce subjects and other permissible weightage.

Tie-Breaker Situation 

Aspirants who receive the same number of marks in the Final Merit List will be grouped together. Their inter-se merit rank, however, will be established as follows:

  • A candidate with a greater percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (10+2 examination) will be placed higher in the order of merit.
  • If the marks as per the above criteria are also the same, the applicants with the larger percentage of marks in the 10th class or an equivalent qualification will rank higher in the order of merit.
  • If two or more applicants receive equal marks in the preceding scenario, the individual who is elder will be ranked higher in order of merit.

Instructions Related to PU UGLAW 2025 Counselling

Following are some of the major instructions related to PU UGLAW 2025 Counselling - 

  • An applicant whose name appears on the Merit List must attend counselling in person on the day/s specified in the counselling schedule, which will be posted at the official webpage.
  • On the dates specified, physical attendance at the counselling is required for both General and Reserved category candidates. All individuals who join the counselling session are asked to sign in.
  • Only candidates who report and indicate their attendance on the days of counselling will be considered for admission when vacant seats are filled.
  • All original documentation must be brought with the candidate.
  • The number of individuals called for counselling in the General Category will be three times the number of seats.
  • Counselling will be held for all qualified candidates from reserved categories. 
  • All candidates must indicate their attendance individually for all three centres on the corresponding days to be considered for the waiting list.
  • The candidate chosen for admission must deposit the original certificates and pay the stipulated fees; otherwise, they will be denied admission, and the seat will be allocated to the next candidate on the merit list.
  • A candidate who arrives late on the days of counselling will not be eligible for admission based on their original merit position. They will be granted only the seat available on the day of counselling.
  • The candidate must attend the admissions counselling at their own risk, expense, and responsibility.
  • Suppose the seats on the waiting list are not filled. In that case, subsequent counselling will be announced from time to time, subject to the declaration of vacant seats within the specified University admission schedule.
  • A candidate's admission shall be provisional and subject to approval by the Panjab University's relevant authority.
  • The Admission Committee will resolve any disputes brought to its attention throughout the admission process.
