SBI Clerk 2025 Selection Process

SBI Clerk Selection Process is based on the SBI Clerk Prelims and SBI Clerk Mains examinations. Once the students have passed both of these examinations, they will be eligible for the post of Junior Associate in the State Bank of India. Students may also be required to sit for the Language Proficiency Test, if applicable. The SBI Clerk Prelims examination was successfully conducted on February 22, February 27, February 28, and March 1, 2025, and the results for this examination will be out in March 2025.

The SBI Clerk 2025 examination is held in three rounds: the SBI Clerk Prelims, the SBI Clerk Mains, and the Language Proficiency Test. To pass this examination, students must qualify for the Prelims and the Mains examination according to the SBI Clerk Cutoff scores released by the State Bank of India. SBI Clerk 2025 Selection Process: Prelims Exam

The first phase under the SBI Clerk 2025 selection procedure is the SBI Clerk Prelims exam. As stated in the SBI Clerk exam pattern, the prelims examination is an objective test wherein students will have to answer 100 MCQ-based questions. The SBI Clerk Prelims exam is mainly divided into three sections:

  • English Language
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Numerical Ability

Students get 1 hour (60 minutes) to complete this examination. The SBI Clerk Prelims are held in online mode. Those who clear this test, based on the cutoff scores that are later released on the official website of the State Bank of India, are qualified to sit for the SBI Clerk Mains.

SBI Clerk 2025 Selection Process: Mains Exam

The second phase of the SBI Clerk 2025 exam is the SBI Clerk Mains examination round. This examination tests a student’s knowledge largely based on 4 sections as given in the SBI Clerk syllabus:

  • General/Financial Awareness
  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude

Students are required to answer 190 questions in 2 hours and 45 minutes. The SBI Clerk Mains Test is conducted in the online mode. The total number of marks for the SBI Clerk Mains is 200. Students who clear this examination are eligible for the post of Junior Associate.

SBI Clerk 2025 Selection Process: Language Proficiency Test

  • As per the SBI Clerk eligibility criteria, students who clear the Prelims and the Mains examination will be selected for the respective posts. However, some students may have to appear for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) as given below.   • In addition to the SBI Clerk Prelims and SBI Clerk Mains exam, applicants will also be required to produce their Class 10th mark sheet or passing certificate to prove that they have studied the official (local) language of the state they have applied from.
  • Applicants who are successful in proving the same won’t have to appear for the Language Proficiency Test.
  • Applicants who fail to prove their proficiency in the local language of the state will have to appear for the language proficiency test as a part of the SBI Clerical selection process.
  • Applicants not found to be proficient in official and/or local language will be disqualified.
