SBI Clerk 2024 Selection Process

The SBI Clerk 2024 selection process is conducted by the State Bank of India at a national level. The authority will be organizing the selection procedure for SBI Clerk 2024 in four phases, namely – Preliminary, Mains, a test of the official/ local language, and the final selection. The SBI Clerk results 2024 for prelims and mains exam were released on February 16 and June 27, respectively.

To enter each phase, it is mandatory for candidates to first qualify for the previous phases. For this, candidates will be required to fulfill the standards set by the SBI. Check out the step-wise details on the SBI Clerk 2024 selection process below. 

Step-wise SBI Clerk Selection Procedure - Prelim Exam

The first phase of the SBI Clerk 2024 selection procedure is preliminary examination. The paper pattern is objective type and has 100 multiple choice questions divided into 3 sections namely:

  • English Language,

  • Reasoning Ability,

  • Numerical ability.

Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the exam. Those who qualify for the Preliminary exam become eligible to appear in the Mains exam.

Step-wise SBI Clerk Selection Procedure - Mains Exam

The second phase of the SBI Clerk 2024 selection procedure is the Mains examination, which has a total of 4 sections namely:

  • General/Financial Awareness

  • English Language

  • Quantitative Aptitude

  • Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude

Candidates have 160 minutes to complete the exam and each section has sectional timings.

Step-wise SBI Clerk Selection Procedure - Language Test

  • In addition to the Prelims and Mains exam, candidates have to produce a class 10 mark sheet/certificate in which they have studied the official (local) language.

  • Such candidates will not be subjected to a language test.

  • Those candidates who are unable to produce a certificate will have to qualify for a language test before the final examination.

  • Candidates not found to be proficient in official and/or local language would be disqualified.

Step-wise SBI Clerk Selection Procedure - Final Selection

  • SBI will prepare a final merit list of all the qualified candidates.

  • Marks secured by the candidates in the Preliminary exam will not be counted.

  • The merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s scores in the Mains exam.

  • Candidates who stand sufficiently high in merit will be offered a post.
