ANU PGCET Eligibility Criteria 2020

The ANUPGCET 2020 eligibility criteria is prescribed by the Acharya Nagarjuna University. The applicants of ANUPGCET 2020 must check the eligibility criteria before they register themselves for the ANUPGCET 2020. The eligibility criteria is prescribed by the exam conducting body in order to choose the most appropriate group of people for the ANUPGCET examination. 

The eligibility criteria for all the courses are different as per the degree offered by the candidates. Candidates will have to check the ANUPGCET eligibility criteria and only if they satisfy all the required criteria then only they will be able to appear for the examination. 

ANU PGCET 2020 Course-Wise Eligibility

For applicants who wish to appear for the ANU PGCET, 2020 must check the ANUPGCET 2020 Course-wise eligibility criteria before applying for the examination.

Zoology

Applicants must have graduated with B.Sc degree and Zoology as one of the subjects.

Microbiology

Candidates must have qualified Graduation in Science stream with any of the two subjects from the list given below: Botany, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Medical Lab Technology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Chemistry and Zoology. 

Food Science, Nutrition and Dietics

Candidates must have secured Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, Biological Sciences, Natural Sciences, Paramedical courses or B.Tech in Food Technology. 

Botany

Candidates must have qualified B.Sc with Botany and Chemistry as two of the core subjects during graduation. 

Environmental Science

Applicants must be a Bachelors in Environmental Management or B.Sc degree holder

BioTechnology

Candidates must have a Bachelors degree Biological Science or Physical Science or Farm Science or Agriculuture or Veterinary or Medicine Science or Pharmacutical or Technology and Engineering. 

Nano Biotechnology

Applicants must have a Bachelors degree Biological Science or Physical Science or Farm Science or Agriculuture or Veterinary or Medicine Science or Pharmacutical or Technology and Engineering.

Aquaculture

Candidates must have qualified B.Sc with Zoology, Fisheries, Fishery Science, Industrial fisheries and Fishes, Aquaculture or any life science subject 

Bio Chemistry

Applicants must have qualified B.Sc with chemistry or Biochemistry

Mathamatics (M.Sc)

Mathamatics

Candidates must have done Bachelors in Arts or Science with Maths as one of the three core subjects of Science.  

Computer Science

Candidates must be graduate with one of the subject as Computer Science

Physical Science(M.Sc)

Electronics

Candidates must have qualified B.Sc with Maths and electronics as a core subject 

Physics

Candidates must have qualified B.Sc with Maths and physics as a core subject and one more subject as third subject

Electronics and instrumentation Technology

Applicants must have qualified B.Sc with Instrumentation or Electronics as one of the core subjects 

OR,

Applicants must have qualified B.Sc with Maths, Physics, Chemistry. 

Chemical Science(M.Sc)

Inorganic Chemistry

Candidates will have to qualify B.Sc with Chemistry as one of the Common Core System. Applicants must have specialised in Organic, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry. Candidates will have to choose one of the three Specialistion while choosing the subject.   

Organic Chemistry

Analytical Chemistry

Oils, Fats and Petro Products

Candidates must have done B.Sc in Oil Technology.

OR, 

Applicants must have done B.Sc in Soap/ Oil/ Detergent OR, B.Sc with Chemistry as one of the Subject. 

Statistics (M.Sc)

Statistics

Applicants must have Maths and Statistics as one two of core subjects out of the three. 

Geology (M.Sc)

Geology

Candidates must have graduated in Science.

Or must be a B.Tech in Civil Engineering

Social Science (M.A)

Sociology

Any candidate who is a graduate in any stream are eligible to opt these subjects.

History

Buddhist Studies

Archeology and History 

Public Administration

Candidates must have done graduation in either of the following sbjects such as Politics, Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, Pyschology, Sociology and Social work as one of the subjects. 

OR, 

The candidates must have qualified either B.C.A/ B.Com/ B.C.M

Rural Development

Candidates must have qualified B.A or B.Com or B.Sc

Policital Science

Candidates must have qualified B.A with either Political Science or Public Administration

Economics

Candidates must be either B.A with Economics

OR,

B.Com with Economics

OR, 

B.Sc with Economics

English (M.A)

English

Candidates aspiring for M.A. English admission in ANU must note that the minimum qualification required is Bachelor's degree in any discipline.

However, the candidates must have studied English as one of the subjects (third language) to be eligible for admission process.

Sanskrit  (M.A)

Sanskrit

Candidates must have done either of the following: 

B.A.O.L. Sanskrit main or B.A.O.L. Telugu Main or

B.A. / B.Com. / B.Sc. / B.C.A./ B.B.M. with Sanskrit under B.A. with special Sanskrit,

Vidya Praveena, Siromani,  

Vidwan (With POL or SSC), BOL in Sanskrit or

Bhasha Praveena With POL, any graduate with Sanskrit / Studied at least one Sanskrit Paper in M.A. Telugu Course 

Hindi (M.A) 

Hindi

Candidates must have either of the following: B.A. or B.Sc. or B.Com. or B.B.M. or B.C.A. with Hindi as a Second Language. 

An Oriental title Examination of B.A. Standard approved by the Government of India or any State Government,

Telugu (M.A)

Telugu

Candidates must have done either of the following: 

B.A. in Special Telugu

B.A.O.L in Telugu or Sanskrit

B.A. / B.Com. / B.Sc. / B.C.A./ B.B.M. with Telugu. 

ANU PGCET Reservation Policy 2020

There are four categories of reservation in ANUPGCET 2020. Admissions to all course of study will be done on the basis of merit of the candidate and also basis the reservation criteria. 

Statutory Reservation: Candidates applying through this category must submit the Caste certificate of their reservation. 

  • Scheduled Tribe: 6%
  • Scheduled Caste: 15%
  • Backward Communities:  29% (A-7%; B-10%; C-1%; D-7%; E-4 %)  

Local Candidate: There is a reservation of 85% in all the categories and all the courses only for the local candidates. Candidates who belong from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam are counted for this reservation. Candidates applying through this category will have to produce their certificate proving they are local candidates. 

Other Category Reservation: There are 5 categories under this reservation section.

  • Physically Handicapped: 3%
  • NCC: 1%
  • Sports: 0.5%
  • Children of Armed Personale:  2%
  • Women: 33.3%

National Integration:

One extra seat is offered to the candidates belonging to other states. These candidates are known as Non-Local candidates.
