IIITH UGEE 2025 Exam Pattern

IIITH UGEE Exam Pattern 2025 is defined and released by the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad on the official website ugadmissions.iiit.ac.in/ugee. According to the latest IIITH UGEE 2025 exam pattern, the question paper of the SUPR (Subject Proficiency Test) section consists 50 questions and REAP  (Research Aptitude Test) section of 50 questions. SUPR will be conducted for 60 minutes and REAP will be held for 120 minutes. The duration of the exam is 180 minutes. IIITH UGEE exam 2025 is conducted in online mode for a total of 150 marks as per the exam pattern of IIITH UGEE 2025. IIITH UGEE 2025 Exam covers Physics, Chemistry and Maths where there will be a negative marking of 25% in both sections.

IIIT UGEE Exam Pattern 2025 for SUPR

Candidates can check the IIIT UGEE Exam Pattern 2025 for the SUPR section from here. 

  • IIIT Hyderabad entrance exam includes a SUPR section where the core subject knowledge is tested. 
  • This section consists of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) questions, with a total of 50 questions. 
  • The medium for this section is English. Candidates will have 60 minutes to answer all 50 questions. 
  • There is a negative marking scheme of 25%, meaning 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer, and one mark will be awarded for each correct answer.

IIIT UGEE Exam Pattern 2025 for REAP

Students aspiring to appear for the IIIT UGEE 2025 exam can check the expattern for the REAP section of the question below. 

  • The Research Aptitude Test (REAP) assesses your critical thinking and problem-solving skills. REAP covers topics such as basic PCM and Arithmetic, Data Interpretation and Reasoning, Algebra, and Geometry. 
  • Similar to the SUPR section, the REAP section will also consist of 50 questions, and the medium of the paper will only be in the English language. 
  • The duration of the UGEE REAP section is 120 minutes, and there is a negative marking scheme. 
  • For each correct answer, you will receive +2 marks, and for each incorrect answer, you will receive to 0.5 marks.

IIITH UGEE Marking Scheme 2025

According to the latest IIITH UGEE 2025 Marking Scheme, both sections hold different marking schemes. Section 1, SUPR (Subject Proficiency Test) contains a negative marking scheme of 0.25 whereas, for each correct answer, candidates are awarded 1 mark. As for section 2, REAP (Research Aptitude Test), candidates will get two marks for each correct answer. However, the UGEE REAP section has a negative marking of 0.5 marks. This means, that if candidates choose the wrong answer, they will lose 0.5 marks from the total marks allotted to that question.

Ways to Avoid Negative Marking in IIITH UGEE 2025 Exam

Negative marking can indeed create anxiety for many students so it is extremely essential to approach exams strategically. Here are some of the tips to minimise the impact of negative marking to secure good marks.

  • Read the IIITH UGEE 2025 Questions Carefully: Take your time to understand the question completely. Pay full attention to the details and the data provided as small mistakes in interpretation can lead to wrong answers.
