As per the guidelines enforced by Panjab University, students wishing to secure a seat in BSc or BPharm programmes must complete a 10+2 education from recognised board. To ensure equal accessibility of education to socially backward communities, a 5% concession will be offered in eligibility marks to SC/ST/BC/PwD applicants.

Nationality:

  • There's no bar on nationality. Both Indians and foreign nationals can apply and must fulfill the basic PU CET UG 2025 eligibility criteria divided by the regulatory body.
  • NRI candidates seeking admission to any course will be required to provide test scores of the Education Testing Service's Scholastic Aptitude Test-II (SAT-II) with a permissible combination of subjects.
  • Admission to all Engineering courses will be available through Direct Admissions Students Abroad (DASA).
  • Foreign Nationals working in foreign missions in India and those who are residing with them, subject to the condition that they obtain a PU CET UG Eligibility Certificate from the Registrar, Panjab University, before submitting their Admission cum Examination Form. 
  • NRI candidates will compete against one another for admission to various courses. Their merit will be determined by their SAT-II, GRE, GMAT, and other test results.
  • A candidate who has been admitted as an NRI candidate in an Undergraduate course will be considered an NRI for subsequent admission to any course at Panjab University.
  • Candidates admitted under the NRI quota and promoted from Undergraduate to Postgraduate courses in the Hons. School frameworks (ongoing programme) are not permitted to change their category.
  • A candidate admitted under the NRI quota may change his/her admission to a vacant seat if he/she meets the merits of admitted candidates in the General or Reserve Category and has also applied for the same.
  • NRI candidates must also meet any other requirements imposed by the Government of India and Panjab University from time to time.
  • A candidate must pass a mandatory Physical Efficiency Test to be admitted to the B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. (Physical Education) programmes. The results of the Physical Efficiency Test will be used to determine merit.
  • Foreign students admitted must fill out the Foreign Student Information System (FSIS) Form and return it to the Dean International Students' office, along with copies of their passports and visas.
  • Foreign students must pay a welfare fee of Rs.1500/- per student. Each NRI/Foreign Student must pay the fee in cash and deposit it at the 'Extension Counter, State Bank of India, Administrative Block of Panjab University.
  • Foreign Nationals and NRI seats are "Interchangeable". That is, if a sufficient number of qualified candidates are not available to fill NRI seats, seats may be filled from among qualified Foreign Nationals, and vice versa.
  • NRI candidates falling under the categories mentioned below will be admitted in the following order of precedence:
  • NRI candidates;
  • Wards of NRI candidates;
  • NRI candidates who did not take the entrance exam. In the case of a regulatory body, if the said regulatory body permits;
  • Wards of NRI candidates who did not take the entrance exam. In the case of a regulatory body, if the said regulatory body permits;
  • Foreign Nationals/NRI candidates who are in India and seeking admission to the relevant course must compete for available seats by taking the Entrance Test (as applicable). Those who are living abroad at the time of the entrance test are not required to take it. Those who have passed the qualifying examination in India will be eligible to take the Entrance Test.

Applying candidates must have these subjects in their Class 12th examination, and have cleared these subjects:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English 
  • Mathematics/ Biotechnology
  • Biology.
