These criteria are designed to maintain standards and ensure fairness in the selection process. Below are the key points outlining the eligibility requirements for TN SET 2025:

  • Educational Qualification: Individuals who have successfully obtained a Master's Degree or an equivalent qualification from a university recognized by the UGC, with a minimum of 55% marks, are eligible to sit for the Test. However, candidates from SC/ST/PwD/Third gender backgrounds must attain at least 50% marks to qualify.
  • Required Aggregate Marks: Candidates presently pursuing a Master's program or awaiting their results are eligible to apply on a provisional basis. Nevertheless, they must ensure that they achieve a minimum of 55% marks (or 50% for specified categories) in their Master's Degree within two years from the date of the TNSET results.
  • Relaxation: Ph.D. holders who completed their Master's before September 19, 1991, are entitled to a 5% relaxation in the aggregate marks required for TNSET, reducing the criterion from 55% to 50%.

  • Age Limit: There are no restrictions on the age limit for TNSET applicants.
