Applicants of JEE Main session 1 are advised to check the JEE Main seat allotment 2025 following the given steps.
Step 1: Candidates must visit the official site of JoSAA 2025
Step 2: A new window will open on the Screen of the applicant
Step 3: Candidates will find a link that says ‘View seat allotment for Round ( )’
Step 4: As soon as the candidate clicks on that link, the candidates will be redirected to a new page where they need to fill up the required credentials, such as registration number and password.
Step 5: After logging in, the candidates will be able to check the seat allocation
Step 6: Applicants are advised to download the seat allotment result and take a printout of the seat allocation call letter.
The candidates are allocated seats based on the availability of the seat during the JEE Main 2025 seat allotment process. The merit and preferences filled up by the candidate are also considered while allocating the seat to the applicants.
Once the seat is allocated, the candidates will have to either Freeze, Float, slide or Withdraw their seat

The following set of documents must be produced at the time of verification -
Candidates who have appeared for JEE Main 2026 will be offered admission based on their All India Rank (AIR) and the choices they filled during the seat allocation process.
The candidates will be provided with the option to select their preferred branches/programs and institutes online at the appropriate time.
The verification of documents will be carried out during the seat allocation process/admission.
The conducting authority will verify various records such as age, category, identification, state of eligibility, disability of the candidate (if any), and the qualifying examination.
Candidates unable to produce the relevant documents will be disqualified from admission
Candidates belonging to Gen-EWS, OBC, ST, SC, and PwD categories will need to produce the original certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format at the time of JEE Main 2026 seat allotment process and admission.
Candidates who qualify for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs whose admissions are dependent on JEE Main session 1 ranks must have obtained at least 75% in their Class 12 exams or be in the top 20% of their respective Class 12 Board exams. The admission process and eligibility criteria may vary for each institute, and candidates are advised to check the official websites of the institutes for detailed information on the admission process and eligibility criteria.
In the event that a candidate who chooses to accept a seat at an IIT through "Online Reporting" in a specific seat allocation round is then given a seat in the NIT+System for the first time in subsequent rounds of seat allocation (if any), the NIT+ System will recheck the eligible candidates' documents and qualifications. Candidates must log into the JoSAA online portal in these situations to see if any questions have been raised. As the deadline approaches, candidates must reply online to the questions posed.

JEE Main JoSAA round 1 seat allotment result 2025 date is yet to be declared.
To continue with the JoSAA process and secure seats in IITs or NITs, candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee and complete all the steps of the online reporting process in the same round of seat allocation.
For admissions into NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, it is mandatory for general category candidates to have a minimum aggregate mark of 75%. Reserved category candidates need to secure a minimum aggregate mark of 65%. (Source: JoSAA 75 percent criteria 2023)
JEE Main NTA Qualifying Marks:
Seat allocation in JoSAA is based on the candidate's merit, preferences, and seat availability. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) releases the seat allotment results online after each round of counselling.
The JoSAA Seat Matrix 2024 is yet to be released. As per the previous seat matrix trends, candidates can expect 23,954 seats to be available in NITs, 7746 seats in IIITs and 8067 seats in GFTIs.
