How to check Seat Allotment of JEE Main 2024?

Applicants of JEE Main are advised to check the JEE Main seat allotment 2024 following the given Steps. 

Step 1: Candidates must visit the official site of JoSAA 2024

Step 2: A new window will open on the Screen of the applicant

Step 3: Candidates will find a link that says ‘View seat allotment for Round ( )’

Step 4: As soon as the candidate clicks on that link the candidates will be redirected to a new page where they need to fill up the required credentials such as registration number and password. 

Step 5: After logging in the candidates will be able to check the seat allocation 

Step 6: Applicants are advised to download the seat allotment result and take a printout of the seat allocation call letter.

What to do After JEE Main Seat Allotment 2024?

The candidates are allocated seats based on the availability of the seat during the JEE Main 2024 seat allotment process. The merit and preferences filled up by the candidate are also considered while allocating the seat to the applicants. 

Once the seat is allocated the candidates will have to either Freeze, Float, slide or Withdraw their seat

  • Float - This option is available to candidates who want to maintain their assigned seat while also upgrading their seat.
  • Freeze - If a candidate is content with his or her JEE Main seat allotment 2024 result and does not want to participate in subsequent rounds of JoSAA counselling, he or she can choose the freeze option.
  • Slide - If a candidate accepts the seat granted in a certain round but chooses to upgrade to the B.Tech programme at the same JEE Main participating institute, they can choose the slide option.
  • Withdraw - If an applicant has already taken a seat, he or she may withdraw from the seat by reporting to the designated institute before the final round of JEE Main seat assignment 2024

Documents Required for Verification after JEE Main Seat Allotment 2024

The following set of documents must be produced at the time of verification - 

  • JEE Main seat allotment letter issued by JoSAA
  • Three passport-sized photos (same as uploaded during registration)
  • Class 10 Certificate
  • Class 12 Mark Sheet
  • JEE Main admit card 2024
  • A valid picture ID card issued by the government

JEE Main 2024 Seat Allotment and Admission process - Important Points

  • Candidates who have appeared for JEE Main 2024 will be offered admission based on their All India Rank (AIR) and the choices they filled during the seat allocation process.

  • The candidates will be provided with the option to select their preferred branches/programs and institutes online at the appropriate time.

  • The verification of documents will be carried out during the seat allocation process/admission.

  • The conducting authority will verify various records such as age, category, identification, state of eligibility, disability of the candidate (if any), and the qualifying examination.

  • Candidates unable to produce the relevant documents will be disqualified from admission

  • Candidates belonging to Gen-EWS, OBC, ST, SC, and PwD categories will need to produce the original certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format at the time of JEE Main 2024 seat allotment process and admission.

JEE Main Participating Institutes 2024

Candidates who qualify for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs whose admissions are dependent on JEE Main ranks must have obtained at least 75% in their Class 12 exams or be in the top 20% of their respective Class 12 Board exams. JoSAA Dual Reporting for Seat Allotment

In the event that a candidate who chooses to accept a seat at an IIT through "Online Reporting" in a specific seat allocation round is then given a seat in the NIT+System for the first time in subsequent rounds of seat allocation (if any), the NIT+ System will recheck the eligible candidates' documents and qualifications. Candidates must log into the JoSAA online portal in these situations to see if any questions have been raised. As the deadline approaches, candidates must reply online to the questions posed.

How many seats are available through JEE?

The JoSAA Seat Matrix 2024 is yet to be released. As per the previous seat matrix trends, candidates can expect 23,954 seats to be available in NITs, 7746 seats in IIITs and 8067 seats in GFTIs.

Dear students, with a rank of 494445 getting a seat in any one government college in Odisha for civil engineering course is very difficult. For civil engineering, NIT Rourkela opening rank is 25338 and the closing rank is 40516, similarly for IIT Bhubaneswar the opening rank is 9106 and closing rank is 23024. You can also check the engineering colleges with a low rank in JEE Main 2024

Yes with a rank of 45500 rank you can get a seat in NITs like NIT Jalandhar, NIT Agartala, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Nagaland, NIT Rourkela, NIT Uttarakhand. For IITs with a rank of 45500 it is slightly challenging to get a seat. It is advised to wait for the JoSAA cutoff to release for all the 5 rounds.
