The revised JEE syllabus for Mathematics excludes several topics across chapters. In the Binomial Theorem, the properties of binomial coefficients have been removed. From Circles and Conics, the equation of tangents and normals has been omitted. In Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations, cube roots of unity and the triangle inequality are excluded. In Coordinate Geometry, topics like equations of angle bisectors, family of lines through the intersection of two lines, and conditions/equations related to tangents to circles have been removed. For Definite Integration, the concept of definite integrals as a limit of a sum is no longer included. The Limits, Continuity, and Differentiability chapter excludes tangents, normals, and mean value theorems. In Probability, Bernoulli’s trials and the binomial distribution are omitted, while Sequence and Series no longer include AGP or summation of series. The Straight Lines chapter excludes the family of lines and equations of angle bisectors. Topics in Trigonometry like trigonometric equations and height and distance are removed, and in 3D-Geometry, the section on planes is excluded. Entire chapters on Mathematical Reasoning and the principle of Mathematical Induction have also been deleted.
JEE Main Mathematics Syllabus Important Topics include Algebra, covering sets, relations, and functions, complex numbers, quadratic equations, permutations and combinations, sequences and series, and matrices and determinants. In Calculus, important areas are limits, continuity, differentiation, integration, applications of derivatives, and integrals. Trigonometry focuses on basic identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, inverse trigonometric functions, and applications of trigonometry. In Geometry, lines, circles, conics (parabola, ellipse, hyperbola), three-dimensional geometry, vectors, and coordinate geometry are significant. Lastly, in Statistics, measures of central tendency, dispersion, and probability distributions are crucial.
Sets, Relations and Functions, Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations, Matrices and Determinants, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem and its Simple Applications, Sequence and Series, Limit, Continuity and Differentiability are some of the units covered in the JEE Main Mathematics Syllabus 2025.
