JEE Mains Question Paper 2019 is available for download on this page. JEE Main 2019 was conducted in two phases. It was the first time NTA came out with the idea of conducting JEE in two phases. The JEE Main 2019 January Exam was held from January 8 to January 12, 2019, while the JEE Main 2019 April Exam was conducted from April 6 to 20, 2019. JEE Main 2019 Papers 1 and 2 were held in two shifts. Shift 1 was conducted from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm while the second shift was from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The JEE Main 2019 exam was conducted for two papers. In the JEE Main 2019 Paper 1, there were questions from three subjects - Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Each topic from the JEE Mains 2019 Question Paper had the same importance, and the complete paper consisted of 360 marks. The JEE Main 2019 Question Paper 2 had questions about Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing skills. This paper was worth a total of 390 marks.

Paper 1

  • The difficulty level of the maths section was considered to be Medium to Tough.

  • Physics was Medium but time-consuming.

  • Chemistry was Easy but lengthy.

  • The physics section was allotted a total of 30 marks where 8 were from mechanics, 13 questions were set from electromagnetism, 2 from modern physics,3 from thermodynamics,  3 from optics, and 1 from SHM and Waves.

  • Students stated that 10 questions were quite easy, 17 were moderate and 3 questions were difficult.

  • The Physics section consisted of 8 from coordinate geometry, 9 questions from algebra, 9 from calculus and 4 were based on probability, mathematical reasoning, and statistics. 

  • Overall the maths section consisted of 13 considerably easy questions, 13 were on a moderate level and 4 questions were tough.

  • Chemistry paper had the same weightage in inorganic, physical, and organic chemistry. 

  • From the class 12 syllabus, 17 questions were asked while 13 questions were prepared from the class 11 syllabus.

  • There were 12 questions from physical chemistry, 10 from organic chemistry, and 8 from inorganic chemistry. 

  • Out of these, 16 questions were on a moderate level, 11 questions quite easy, and 3 required a bit of thinking but were answerable. 

  • The math section was the hardest. 

  • People who had studied for the exam using old question papers said that it was even harder than in previous years. 

  • Some of the questions were the same as in old papers. 

  • The Chemistry section was a bit easier because some of the questions came from high school textbooks.

Paper 2

  • The JEE Main exam has three sections - Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing out of which 50 questions were asked from Aptitude, Mathematics consisted of 30 questions and 2 questions from Drawing.

  • The Mathematics and Aptitude sections have objective type questions, while the Drawing section tests candidates' drawing and sketching skills. 

  • The exam had a total of 82 questions and was worth 390 marks. 

  • There were questions about shapes and 3D objects in General Aptitude

  • General knowledge consisted of asking the names of the locations in India which revolved around architectural importance.

  • Full forms were asked in General Aptitude.

  • The majority of the questions were based on the topic of calculus in Maths paper.

  • The questions asked in the drawing section were easy but consumed a considerable amount of time.

  • There were 3 questions in the Drawing section which carried 70 marks. The questions were designed to examine the creativity and drawing skills of the candidates.
