JEE Main 2017 Question Paper

JEE Main 2017 question paper: The NTA conducted the JEE Main 2017 in two modes: online and offline. The JEE Main Online exam was conducted on April 8 and 9, 2017, whereas the JEE Main Offline exam was conducted on April 2, 2017. The difficulty level of both modes of exam was moderately difficult. However, only the JEE Main Paper 1 (BTech and BE) was conducted online, whereas the JEE Main Paper 2 (BArch & BPlan) was conducted in offline mode. The JEE Main exam was conducted for a total of 360 marks; each section carried 120 marks (Maths, Physics, and Chemistry)

Latest JEE Main Update: JEE Main 2024 Question Paper

The JEE Mains 2017 question paper was similar to JEE Main 2016. Overall, the analysis of the paper showed that it was simpler compared to last year. The mathematics section was the toughest of all the three sections, physics was relatively simpler than JEE Main 2016 and the chemistry section was more conceptual than last year.

The JEE Main Answer Key for B.Arch and B.Planning was released on February 15, 2025, and the candidates were allowed to challenge the JEE Main Paper 2 answer key till February 16, 2025. The JEE Main Paper 2 final answer key and results are still awaited and can be expected anytime soon on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in. On the other hand, the JEE Main session 2 application form is underway and the last date to apply for the JEE Mains April session exam is February 22, 2025. The JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam is scheduled to be conducted from April 1 to 8, 2025.

JEE Main 2017 Exam Difficulty Level

Physics 

In the Physics section of the JEE Main 2017 question paper, there were 11 questions from the class 11th NCERT syllabus and 19 questions from the class 12th NCERT syllabus. More than theoretical the questions were more calculative and formula-based. The paper was easy for students who had a good understanding of the topics. 

Chemistry 

The Chemistry section was quite balanced and was the easiest of all the three sections. There were no questions on the topics of States of Matter and Chemistry in Life. The questions were theoretical rather than calculative. 

Mathematics 

Mathematics was the most difficult section of all, mainly because of its lengthy and application-based questions. There were 10 questions from the NCERT class 11th syllabus and 20 questions were from the NCERT class 12th syllabus.
