MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2025:  The Government of Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test prescribed the eligibility criteria for the MHT CET exam. According to the latest eligibility criteria, candidates must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC) in  Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology for prescribed courses in Engineering and Pharmacy to get admission to MHT CET 2025 participating colleges. Along with having a higher secondary degree from a science background, candidates have to meet other eligibility criteria to appear for the exam.

MHT CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra State Candidature

There are various categories of candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra with respect to the MHT CET eligibility criteria. The categories have been discussed below.

Candidature Type

Eligibility Criteria

Type A

  • Candidates who have qualified the SSC as well as the HSC, Bachelor of Science, or Engineering Degree exams from a recognized school in the state of Maharashtra. Candidate who was either born in the state of Maharashtra or has their primary residence there.

Type B

  • A candidate who does not adhere to Type A but whose mother or father is from the state of Maharashtra.

Type C

  • Candidates who do not fit into Type A or Type B but whose mother or father is employed in the government of India, or a governmental-affiliated enterprise are classified. Before the last date of submitting the MHT CET application form, one or both parents must be assigned and reported to duty in Maharashtra.

Type D

  • Candidates who do not adhere to Types A, B, or C but whose parents are either currently employed by or have retired from the Government of Maharashtra or a Government of Maharashtra Undertaking

Type E

  • Candidates who qualified the SSC and/or HSC exams from an accredited institute in the disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border Area and whose mother tongue is Marathi.

MHT CET 2025 Eligibility For B.Tech/B.E

The eligibility criteria for candidates aspiring for B.Tech admission through MHT CET 2025 can be checked below -

Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate

  • Applicant must be a citizen of India.

  • Applicants should have passed HSC (10+2) or its equivalent exam with compulsory Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and should have marks percentage (as notified by the Government from time to time) in these subjects.

  • Applicants who have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology (50% marks for General category and 45% for Backward classes & PwD) and should have Maharashtra domicile are also eligible.

  • Candidate should have passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized university (50% marks for General category and 45% for Backward classes & PwD) as defined by UGC and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject (Maharashtra domicile)

All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu, and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates

  • Applicant should be a citizen of India.

  • Applicant should have passed HSC(10+2) or its equivalent exam with Mathematics and Physics as a compulsory subject along with one of the Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical or Vocational subject and should have at least scored required percentage of marks in the above subjects taken together.

For NRI, OCI, PIO, Children of Workers in Gulf Countries

  • Candidates should have passed the HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects - Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 50 % marks in the above subjects taken together.

MHT CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for B.Pharma

The eligibility criteria for candidates aspiring to get admission in B.Pharma course through MHT CET 2025 is as follows -

Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates

  •  The applicant should be a citizen of India

  •  Applicant should have passed HSC (10+2) or its equivalent exam with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology and should have obtained at least the required percentage of marks (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together

  • Applicants should have obtained a score in MHT-CET 2025

MHT CET 2025 Eligibility For Pharma-D First Year

The eligibility criteria of the Pharma.D course for admission through MHT CET is as follows -

Maharashtra State Candidature and All India Candidature Candidates

  • The applicant applying for MHT CET 2025 should be a citizen of India

  • Applicants should have passed HSC(10+2) or its equivalent exam with compulsory subjects Physics and Chemistry with one of the Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology and should have obtained at least the required percentage (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together

OR

  • Applicant should have passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy from institutes of State Board affiliated and should have an approval of competent central authority and State Government and should have obtained at least the required percentage of marks

  • Applicants should have at least 50% marks in the MHT-CET 2025

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Direct Admission

The MHT CET eligibility criteria for direct admission has been enumerated below.

  • NRI/OCI/PIO children or the children of Foreign National or Indian workers in the Gulf countries are not required to appear for the MHT CET 2025 exam. However, candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature or Minority Candidature have to appear in MHT CET 2025 for securing admission in BE/BTech courses.
  • All India candidates may or may not appear for the MHT CET 2025 exam because JEE Main scores shall be preferred over MHT CET 2025 scores for providing admission into BE/BTech courses.
  • Candidates belonging to the Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature and All India Candidature have to appear in MHT CET 2025 for securing admission into BPharm/PharmD courses.

It is compulsory for all the candidates to comply with the MHT CET 2025 eligibility criteria before taking admission across the institutes of Maharashtra. In case of failing to meet any MHT CET 2025 eligibility conditions at the time of admission, their candidature may get cancelled.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Minority

  • The domicile of the candidates must be from Maharashtra-Karnataka disputed borders 
  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 from school situated in the disputed borders of Karnataka and Maharashtra

  • The candidate must have studied Marathi as a compulsory subject 

MHT CET Eligibility 2025 for Wards of Defence Personnel

If you are allotted a seat via MHT CET 2025 counselling, you will be required to login to the MHT CET candidate portal and select the “Accept and Freeze” option. After the option has been selected, you will be issued a provisional seat allotment letter with details of college and branch and the details of seat confirmation fee to be paid.
