About UPTET 2025

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) is likely to release the UPTET 2025 official notification soon by the third week of January 2025. The UPTET 2025 Application Form will be released on the official website - updeled.gov.in,after the release of the official notification in the third week of January 2025 itself and continue till February 2025. The admit cards will be released 10 days prior to the date when the exam is scheduled to be conducted either by the last week of February or the first week of March 2025. The UPTET 2025 exam date will be announced after the official notification is released. It can be anticipated to be conducted in March 2025. The official answer key will be released by April 2025 and the results will be made available most likely in May 2025.

UPTET exam is divided into two parts: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is for the candidates who want to become government teachers for Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Schools) while Paper II is for the candidates who aspire to teach Classes 6 to 8 (Junior) in government schools of Uttar Pradesh. Based on the UPTET Exam Pattern 2025, candidates will have to solve 150 questions in the time duration of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). One mark will be rewarded for each question whereas there will be no negative marking in this entrance exam.

UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) is a state-level eligibility test conducted, once a year, by the Uttar Pradesh Pareeksha Niyamak Pradhandhikari, to select credible candidates who can be teachers in the upgrowing primary government education sector in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who clear UPTET shall be eligible to teach Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Schools) and Classes 6 to 8 (Junior) in government schools as well as government-aided schools across Uttar Pradesh. However, UPTET does not guarantee a position as a teacher in government schools across the state, and the candidates will have to clear a recruitment exam conducted by the UP government to fill up the vacancies in government as well as aided schools across the state.

What is UPTET?

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a qualification test to get eligible to become a teacher in the governmental as well as aided schools in Uttar Pradesh. From this year onwards, UPTET will be conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC). This examination is conducted once a year, to shortlist the eligible candidates for the post of primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Junior school teachers (Classes 6 to 8) in the state.

UPTET is divided into two parts: Paper I and Paper II. The candidates who want to become government teachers for Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Schools) must qualify for Paper I while the candidates who want to teach Classes 6 to 8 (Junior) in government schools of Uttar Pradesh have to pass Paper II. After qualifying UPTET, a candidate has to appear for the recruitment test for particular governmental schools, conducted by the UP government, to finally become a teacher.

UPTET 2025 Conducting Body

Earlier, the Department of Basic Education (DBE), Uttar Pradesh used to conduct UPTET exams every year. As per the latest information shared by the CM of Uttar Pradesh, a new exam-conducting body is being formed for UPTET 2025. The new team "Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC)" will be conducting UPTET 2025 on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB).

UPTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Given below are the general eligibility criteria that have to be fulfilled by the candidates to appear for the UPTET 2025 exam. As mentioned, UPTET 2025 is being conducted in two parts i.e. Paper I and Paper II. These two papers are subject to individual eligibility conditions. Candidates can read this article completely to understand the contrast between the eligibility criteria of the two papers.

Following are the three essential eligibility criteria for the UPTET 2025 exam,

  • Nationality: Applicant should be a citizen of India/Nepal/Tibet/Bhutan. Eligible candidates who reside outside of Uttar Pradesh can also apply for UPTET 2025. This means that possessing the UP Domicile is not a necessary condition to appear for the UPTET 2025 exam.
  • Age Limit: The age limit as prescribed for UPTET 2025 is 18-35 years. The range of age to appear for the UPTET 2025 is 18 years to 35 years, whereas candidates aged more than 35 years cannot apply for the examination. 
  • Educational Qualification: Applicant must possess a UGC-recognized bachelorโ€™s degree in Education (B.Ed, D.Ed, BTC, etc.) with at least 50% marks.

UPTET 2025 Application Form Details

UPTET 2025 application form will be released in online mode on the official website updeled.gov.in. Candidates must fill out the application form in online mode only. The candidates need to fill out the important information in the application form along with the required documents. UPTET 2025 Online Application process will be open for about a month. Candidates are advised to understand the Application form-filling process and apply for UPTET 2025 well before the last date to avoid any last-minute chaos.

UPTET 2025 Admit Card

The UPTET 2025 admit card will be released 10 days before the scheduled exam date. The UPTET 2025 admit card will only be released for the candidates who have successfully registered for the UPTET 2025 exam after paying the requisite fee. All such candidates can download their e-admit card by logging in to the official website, followed by entering their registration ID and password. UPTET Result 2025

UPTET result 2025 will be released on the official website updeled.gov.in. UPBEB releases the UPTET result about two months after releasing the answer keys. The results for both papers: I & II will be released on the same day. The candidates can check their results online by entering their credentials on the result page. Candidates who successfully pass the UPTET 2025 exam will be issued an eligibility certificate which would be valid for a lifetime.

UPTET 2025 Cutoff

UPTET 2025 Cutoff signifies the minimum passing marks a candidate need to secure in order to be declared as pass. UPESSC will release the UPTET 2025 cutoff after the declaration of the UPTET result 2025.

Factors determining the UPTET cutoff 2025  are mentioned below.

  • Difficulty level of the examination,
  • Total number of candidates appearing in the examination, and
  • Total number of candidates to be taken.

UPTET 2025 Answer Keys

UPBEB will release the official answer keys of UPTET 2025 around 45 days after the exam is conducted, on the official website. The candidates can check the answer keys and evaluate their raw scores based on the marking scheme of UPTET 2025. The candidates will also be given the right to challenge the answer key for UPTET 2025. The window for the same will be active after a week of the answer key release date. UPTET 2025 Final Answer Key will be released in April 2025, followed by the release of the UPTET result 2025. 

UPTET 2025 Selection Process

As stated earlier, UPTET 2025 is just an eligibility test. Mere qualifying for this test does not guarantee you a job. Candidates who pass the UPTET 2025 examination will be issued an eligibility certificate. They would be required to take a recruitment exam when there are vacancies open for a government school or a government-aided school in Uttar Pradesh.

Validity of UPTET 2025 Certificate

Earlier, the validity of the UPTET certificate was 5 years, but as per the information laid down by the NCTE, the UPTET eligibility certificate is now valid for a lifetime, once issued.

UP government releases teacher recruitment notification based on the number of vacancies available in schools across Uttar Pradesh. UPTET eligibility is mandatory for candidates who wish to appear for the Teacher Recruitment Exam of Uttar Pradesh.

UPTET Salary

The base UPTET salary for 2025 is INR 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of INR 4200/- supplied for primary teachers and INR 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of INR 4600/- provided for upper primary teachers, following the pay band and grade up provided by the 7th Pay Commission. The sole difference in the in-hand salary between rural and urban school districts is the house-rent allowance.

What After UPTET 2025 Exam?

  • Those candidates who have qualified UPTET exam have various kinds of opportunities which they can follow in order to get a teaching job in a government-run school in Uttar Pradesh state. 
  • There are three recruitment processes which will take place after the UPTET exam: Super TET (UP Assistant Teacher), UP LT Grade, and UP TGT and PGT recruitment exams.
  • Those candidates who have qualified Level 1 and Level 2 for UPTET can go further for the Super TET(UP Assistant Teacher) post. The number of vacancies for this post will be soon released by the consulted authorities.
  • UP TGT PGT vacancies will be soon released by the authorities. In order to clear the test, candidates have to appear for a written test and an interview round. Those candidates who will clear both the rounds will then be recruited in UP TGT PGT vacancies.
  • Those candidates who have successfully passed the UPTET Level 2 paper can then further apply for UP LT grade post. In order to clear the exam, candidates have to give a written exam along with an interview round and a document verification round.
