AP ECET Eligibility Criteria 2025

AP ECET Eligibility Criteria 2025: The APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education) prescribes the eligibility criteria. According to the latest eligibility criteria 2025. To appear for the APECET exam, candidates have to hold a bachelor's or diploma degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture, or BSc. However, the candidates have to meet other eligibility criteria, like age limit, domicile, etc. 

Candidates are advised to go through the AP ECET syllabus 2025 to get a hold of the exam to ensure the best preparation for the exam. The qualifying percentage scores for AP ECET 2025 are 25% of the aggregate marks, i.e., 50 marks out of a total of 200. AP ECET 2025 Eligibility Criteria - Nationality, Age Limit

JNTU on behalf of APSCHE prescribes the nationality and age limit as part of the AP ECET 2025 Eligibility Criteria. It is mandatory for all aspirants to meet these requirements to be eligible for AP ECET Registration 2025. Check out the nationality and age criteria mentioned below - 

Nationality

The applicant must be a residing citizen of India.  

Age Limit

  • For General candidates, the minimum and maximum age requirement is 18 years and 22 years respectively (as on July 1, 2025).

  • For Reserved category candidates, the minimum and maximum age requirement is 18 years and 25 years respectively (as on July 1, 2025).

AP ECET 2025 Education Qualification Criteria

As part of the AP ECET Eligibility Criteria 2025, candidates must fulfil one of the following educational qualifications specified by the APSCHE - 

Criteria 1: Candidate should possess a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the Andhra Pradesh State Board of Technical Education or any other Diploma from an AICTE-approved institution recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for admission into the relevant B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharm courses. 

(or)

Students must have completed the three-year B.Sc. Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the topics in the group combination from a recognised university in the state or its equivalent in order to be admitted to the relevant courses. 

Criteria 2: Candidates studying a Diploma programme would be eligible for admission into the appropriate B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharmacy courses if they have finished the necessary course and passed all subjects for the award of diploma course prior to admission into the institution.

Criteria 3: For admittance into relevant courses, students must have completed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/Pharmacy/B.Sc Degree with at least 45% marks (40% for those from the restricted category)

AP ECET 2025 Domicile Rules

Students applying for AP ECET 2025 must satisfy the domicile rules which is an integral part of the eligibility criteria. Candidates should be considered part of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates must meet the local/non-local status standards outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission)

The meaning of local candidate is as follows - 

Clause A: With reference to a Local Area, a candidate for admission is considered a local candidate:

  • If he/she has studied at an educational institution or institutions in such local area for at least four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination

(or)

  • Where he/she has not studied in any educational Institutions for the entire or any part of the four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, if he/she has resided in that local area for a period of not less than four years immediately preceding the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination in which he/she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared

Clause B: A candidate for admission to the Course who is not considered a local candidate under clause A in relation to any local area must be declared a local candidate based on the following criteria:

If he has studied at educational institutions in the State for at least seven consecutive academic years, concluding with the academic year in which he/she first appeared for the applicable qualifying examination, he will be considered a local candidate in reference to: 

  • Such locality where he/she has studied for the longest duration of time out of the seven years (or)

  • If, during the whole or any part of seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, he/she has not studied in the educational Institutions in any local area but has resided in the State during the said period of seven years

  • Such local area where he/she has resided for the longest time out of the seven years, or

  • When the duration of his/her residence in two or more local areas is equal, such a local area where he/she has remained for the longest period in such equal periods

Local Status of Candidates migrated from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh

A candidate who migrates to any part of the State of Andhra Pradesh from the State of Telangana within FIVE years shall be treated as a local candidate in the State of Andhra Pradesh at the place of his residence, in accordance with such guidelines as may be issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the purpose of education.

AP ECET Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Lateral Admission

The AP ECET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for lateral admission have been stated below -

  • The candidate must have appeared or qualified forAP ECET 2025

  • The candidate must satisfy the eligibility criteria specified by the university for admission

  • 85% of the total seats in each course shall be reserved for admission of local candidates

  • The remaining 15% of the seats in each course shall be open for the admission of other candidates

  • 20% of the lateral entry seats shall be reserved for Unaided Private Institutions (Minority/Non-Minority)

  • 10% of the lateral entry seats shall be reserved over and above the prescribed intake in case of admission to the university-affiliated colleges

  • Candidates with a Science (Mathematics) background shall be considered for admission after the seats are filled up qualified diploma holders. Lateral entry seats shall be filled up on the basis of AP ECET 2025 ranks.

AP ECET 2025 Admission Eligibility

APSCHE sets AP ECET 2025 qualifying marks which candidates must secure in order to have successfully passed the exam and qualify for the admission process. The qualifying percentage scores for AP ECET 2025 are 25% of the aggregate marks in the four disciplines (three subjects for B.Sc. Mathematics), i.e. 50 marks out of a total of 200. i got 18000 rank i didn't get any seat in first counciling can i get a free seat in raghu engineering college for the second counciling and i had a sc caste reservation

You can look for options in the second round counseling as rank of 18000 would be equal to a score between 50-59. This is an average rank/score in the exam. Look for other options too and apply to different colleges so that you do not miss your admissions.
