JEE Advanced Counselling 2024

JoSAA JEE Advanced 2024 round 5 seat allotment result has been released on July 17, 2024. The last date for document verification and reporting for round 5 is July 22, 2024. Candidates can check the seat allotment result by logging in using their credentials like Application Number, Password and Security Pin. 

Candidates qualifying the JEE Advanced 2024 exam will be only eligible to participate in the counselling of JEE Advanced 2024. The JEE Advanced counselling 2024 will comprise stages namely online registration, option entry, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted institutes for final admission. The JEE Advanced 2024 counselling will take place across 5 rounds. The eligible candidates must register themselves for the JEE Advanced 2024 counselling and submit their college and course preferences within the specified deadline to be eligible for the JEE Advanced seat allotment 2024. Candidates will have to use their JEE Advanced 2024 application number and password to apply for the JEE Advanced counselling process 2024.

The Central Seat Allocation Board will conduct an additional counselling round for the candidates who were unable to secure a seat after the JEE Advanced counselling for round 5.

JEE Advanced 2024 Counselling & Seat Allotment Process

The detailed JEE Advanced 2024 counselling process will help the candidates right from the beginning till the culmination of the counselling process for JEE Advanced 2024. The step-wise counselling process for JEE Advanced 2024 is as follows:

Registration

This is the first step of the JEE Advanced 2024 counselling process where the candidates will be required to register themselves with the help of the application number and password which they received while applying for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam.

Option-Filling and Choice Locking

Once the candidates have successfully registered themselves for the JEE Advanced 2024 counselling, they will be required to proceed with filling up the options in the given text boxes. The candidates can alter their choices before the final submission. The candidates will have the liberty of selecting 50 choices during the online choice locking process. Once they have pressed on the “Submit” button for the final time, they must keep a copy of the same with them for future reference.

Note:

  • The candidates must enter their choices before the final date and failing to do so will lead to automatic locking of choices

  • Candidates applying for courses like Mining Machinery Engineering, Mining Engineering etc must also fulfil the fitness eligibility criteria

  • Female students cannot apply for Mining Engineering and similar other courses at the Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad

  • Only those candidates who have qualified for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) can apply for Architecture courses offered by the different IITs

Allotment of Seats

The seat allotment process for the eligible candidates will begin with two mock allotments where the candidates will be able to modify their choices. Seat Availability, choices and merit will be taken into consideration during the seat allotment process. After the mock allotment process, the candidates will be able to modify their choices. During the final seat allotment process, the candidates will have three options- float, freeze and slide which will allow the candidates to do what they want to do with the seat allotted to them.

Post JEE Advanced Seat Allotment

After the seat allotment process is over, the candidates have to report to their respective Zonal IITs for document verification and admission fee payment.

Granting of Provisional Admission

After all, the documents are verified and payment of the fees, a final allotment letter will be issued by the Institute and the candidates will be granted provisional admission.

Note: Any candidate found to falsify any information, his/her candidature will be cancelled immediately and he/she will be barred from participating in the further counselling process.

Documents Required for JEE Advanced 2024 Counselling

The candidates must have the following documents handy with them to participate in the JEE Advanced 2024 counselling process - 

  • JEE Advanced Admit Card

  • JEE Advanced Application Form,

  • Seat Allotment letter from JoSAA portal

  • Medical Examination Report

  • The class 10th mark sheet and certificate as proof of Date of Birth

  • Class 12th /SSC/any other Equivalent examination Mark sheet and Certificate of passing

  • Category Certificate issued by the competent authority

  • For the foreign nationals candidates Attested photocopy of the passport containing the name, photo, and nationality

JEE Advanced Seat Allotment 2024

Candidates qualifying the JEE Advanced 2024 exam must register for the JEE Advanced counselling process and seat allotment, which is undertaken by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates will be allotted seats based on their JEE Advanced 2024 rank, filled choices, caste category, and the availability of seats at the JEE Advanced participating colleges 2024. Candidates will have to choose between float, freeze, and slide options after every allotment across the 6 rounds. JoSAA will conduct a mock JEE Advanced seat allotment to provide candidates with an idea of their probable allotment on the basis of their filled choices.
