Factors Determining MH SET Cutoff

MH SET Cutoff

There are various factors that determine the MH SET Cutoff. These factors are listed below:

  • Number of vacancies: More vacancies can increase the chances of selection.
  • Number of applicants: Higher number of candidates appearing in the exam might result in higher cut off.
  • Highest score obtained: Highest marks achieved by any of the candidates will increase the overall MH SET cut off 2024.
  • Difficulty level of the paper: An easy level of question paper leads to an increase in the cut off, and vice versa.
  • Total qualifying slots: The minimum number of candidates to be qualified for the MH SET exam is 6% of the total candidates who appeared for SET in both papers.
  • Category-wise qualifying slots: According to the reservation policy of the Maharashtra state, total qualifying slots are allocated to different categories.
  • Subject-wise and Category-wise minimum eligibility: At least 40% aggregate marks are required in both the papers taken together for General Category candidates & at least 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for all candidates belonging to Reserved categories viz. SC/ST/OBC/DT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D)/SBC (Non Creamy Layer only), Orphans & PwD to be recruited as Assistant Professor.
  • Subject-wise number of qualifying slots for a particular category: The qualifying slots subject-wise for a particular category can be calculated by employing the following formula:

( No. of candidates who fulfilled minimum eligibility in that subject under General category) X ( No. of slots available under General category )

Total no. of candidates who fulfilled minimum Eligibility in all subjects Under General Category

  • Subject-wise percentage of aggregate marks corresponding to the number of qualifying slots for each category
  • Number of candidates scoring equal to or greater than the qualifying cutoff % aggregate marks in a particular subject category-wise in two papers taken together
