The SEED 2025 exam is divided into different rounds. After candidates qualify for the written exam, they are eligible for other rounds. In the portfolio presentation round, students must upload their portfolios on the official website. Then the portfolio submitted by the candidates are evaluated by a panel of interviewers.

Aspirants who get shortlisted in the portfolio presentation round will only be able to move forward to the next round of Personal Interaction. This round comprises questions based on the programme the student has chosen. Moreover, keeping in mind the portfolio is also advisable, as the panel will also ask questions related to the portfolio.
Candidates who qualify for SEED will have to sit for the Studio Test round. They can appear for this Studio test at the SID campus itself. However, the final selection is done based on the complete performance of the candidate. So, students are advised to give their best not only in the written test but also in the portfolio round, personal interaction round, and PRPI Tasks. It also depends on the information provided by the candidate on the application form and their choice of specialisation.

The SEED exam is given once a year. The test is often held in the month of January. The SEED exam 2024 application process has already started. The test date has been set for January 12, 2025.
The SEED 2025 exam has a passing mark of 50%. This indicates that in order to pass the exam, a candidate must earn at least 50% of the total marks. The test is graded out of 100 marks, thus a candidate must score at least 50 marks to pass.
Candidates who have created a handmade portfolio must take photographs of their best work, put it in PDF format, and upload it to the provided URL. It is not permitted to display the handcrafted portfolio during the PI round. It is mandatory to upload the work before the scheduled time for engagement. The SEED 2025 Portfolio can be uploaded on the SEED website. The portfolio submission day is on March 27, 2025. To submit your portfolio, you must first establish an account on the SEED website and log in. The portfolio should be a digital portfolio showcasing your greatest work and creative enthusiasm. During the SEED 2025 personal interaction round, you may be asked to draw or sketch something. This, however, is not assured. The personal interaction round is intended to evaluate your inventiveness, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills. To measure your creativity and problem-solving skills, the panellists may ask you to draw or sketch something. They may also ask you to discuss your portfolio or creative ideas.
- Your best works: Your portfolio should highlight your greatest work as well as your love of design. Sketches, drawings, paintings, pictures, collages, or any other sort of artwork that you have made can be included.
- A written statement: Include a written statement about your passion for design and your future aspirations. This statement should not exceed 500 words.
- Your contact information: Include your contact information as well, such as your name, email address, and phone number.
- Portfolio Evaluation: Candidates that pass the SEED 2025 test will be invited to participate in the portfolio evaluation. The portfolio assessment will be undertaken by a panel of design specialists.
- Personal Interaction Round: Shortlisted applicants for the portfolio assessment will be invited to a personal interaction round. A panel of academic members from the participating institutes will moderate the round of personal interactions.
