If you are planning to take the SEED 2025 entrance exam, make sure to review the latest syllabus for the most accurate preparation. The written examination for SEED 2025 will be conducted on 12 January 2025 by the Symbiosis Institute of Design, SID. The SEED 2025 application forms are now open till December 25, 2024.

Performance in the written exam will help in qualifying a student for progression to the second stage of Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI).

SEED 2025 Syllabus: Portfolio Presentation

Once the written examinations of the candidates get cleared, they will have to upload the portfolio for the PR–PI stage. The link for the same will get activated on the SID admission portal once the SEED 2025 shortlist for PR–PI is declared. The format and guidelines for submitting candidates' portfolios are as indicated. 

The portfolio shall be in digital form, comprising selected best works by the candidate that demonstrate a candidate's skill, passion, and interest in different techniques and areas. Your portfolio should be organized as a PowerPoint presentation; there should not be more than 15 slides. Convert this presentation to a single PDF file with a maximum size of 5MB.

Emphasize those things that are unique and remarkable about your portfolio. The portfolios will be judged by a review panel and it must include:

  • Sketches, mixed media illustrations, and digital artwork
  • Image collages, 2D and 3D creations
  • Photography
  • 3D items like sculptures, fabric products, gadgets, and art-inspired objects

SEED 2025 Syllabus: Personal Interaction

Only shortlisted candidates based on the portfolios will be called for this final selection process. The candidate, in this phase of the selection process, will be interviewed by the selection panel based on the program selected and the portfolios submitted. This process will again be conducted through online mode. As part of the final selection phase, the candidate may be called to sketch or draw on a topic given to assess his skills.

SEED 2025 Exam Pattern

As per the revised SEED 2025 exam pattern, there will be 60 multiple-choice type questions. The syllabus is divided into multiple sections of design including Observational, Perceptual and Reasoning Abilities, Visualisation, Creative and Problem-Solving Skills, and Application of Basic Knowledge of Science and Mathematics and Art, Craft, Culture, Design and Environment. Symbiosis Institute of Design usually offers B.Des Admission through SEED scores. However, in 2020 and 2021 candidates were granted admission based on Online Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction Rounds. Students need to appear for the aforementioned admission processes in order to get admission in B.Des at Symbiosis Institute of Design.
