About NIMCET

Every year, on a rotational basis, the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) conduct the NIMCET entrance exam. The NIMCET exam is a national-level entrance exam held annually to offer candidates admission to top NITs and other colleges that accept NIMCET scores. The selected candidates are accepted into the Masters of Computer Application Program.

Candidates who clear the NIMCET exam are allocated to various NIT institutions based on their ranks. Around 25,000 applicants apply for the NIMCET each year, and 9 NITs in India grant approximately 813 seats. In addition to NITs, many other universities and institutes use NIMCET scores to determine who is accepted to their MCA programmes. Admission to NITs in Agartala, Allahabad, Jamshedpur, Bhopal, Kurukshetra, Patna, Surathkal, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), and Warangal is based on the NIMCET score.

NIMCET Answer key 2025

The conducting NIT will release the provisional NIMCET answer key 2025 at nimcet.in on June 11, 2025 (tentatively). The answer key for NIMCET 2025 will allow candidates to double-check their answers. Before the results are released, candidates can use the NIMCET answer key to compute their scores. The authorities will also activate the answer key challenge link for candidates who wish to raise objections (if any) against the provisional answer key within the specified dates. However, they need to pay an amount of INR 500 for every answer they challenge. After reviewing all the answers, the authorities will publish the NIMCET final answer key 2025 featuring all the modifications on the official website. 

NIMCET Result 2025

The authorities will announce the NIMCET 2025 result online on June 26, 2025, (tentatively) following the conclusion of the examination. The result will be made available on the official website - nimcet.in. Candidates must sign in to the website using their application form number and password to view their results. The NIMCET 2025 result will provide information on the candidate's scores and rankings. Those who pass the NIMCET 2025 exam with the required cutoff will be eligible for MCA admission to the institutes. Seats will be assigned through NIMCET counselling 2025 based on their performance in the admission test. 

NIMCET Cutoff 2025

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) will release the NIMCET 2025 cutoff for admission after each round at nimcet.admissions.nic.in. The cutoff will be released in the form of opening and closing ranks at which students will be granted admission to the participating institutes. Candidates can view the cutoff on the official website. The cutoff for NIMCET is determined after taking into consideration various exam-related parameters, like the total number of applicants, the difficulty level of the paper, the previous year's cutoff trends, the availability of seats etc. Furthermore, the cutoff differs depending on the college and category that the candidates pick. Those that reach the threshold will have a better chance of admittance.

NIMCET Eligibility Criteria 2025

The NIMCET eligibility criteria 2025 will be mentioned in the official brochure released by the NIT authorities. The eligibility conditions are outlined on the basis of various parameters, including the applicant's age, educational qualification, nationality, qualifying marks etc. The NIMCET eligibility requirements as specified in the information brochure are as follows:

  1. The applicant must be an Indian national

  2. The candidate must have secured 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST/PwD) in 3-year duration full-time BSc/BSc (Hons)/BCA/BIT with Statistics/Mathematics/Equivalent as one of the subjects from a recognized university.

  3. Candidates with any UG program of a minimum of three years with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects OR B.E./B. Tech. from a recognized University/Institution are eligible to appear for NIMCET 2025. Conversion of scored marks from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa is not permitted.

  4. Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET 2025. Such candidates shall have to furnish proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the Head of the institution where the candidate has been studying/has studied) of candidature for appearing in the examinations during the academic year 2025-26.

  5. All candidates shall submit proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET 2025 at the time of counselling/admission but not later than September 15 (tentatively), failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs.

  6. Note: Students who have completed/completing a Bachelor's Degree Program of a minimum of three years with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided the program is approved by UGC/AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

NIMCET 2025 Counselling

NIT has announced the dates for NIMCET counselling 2025 and the registration and choice filling has started from June 29, 2025 (tentatively). The counselling process will be conducted online in three phases and one special round of counselling. All students seeking admission to MCA courses at the participating NITs will have to enrol for the counselling session. Candidates with valid NIMCET 2025 scores will be admitted to one of the NITs in Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli, and Warangal. Only those who achieve a rank in the NIMCET examinations will be invited to participate in the counselling and seat allotment rounds.

NIMCET Seat Allotment 2025

During the counselling process, candidates are assigned seats based on their selections and rank. The cousnelling will take place in three phases and also for one special round. If an applicant is assigned a seat based on their choices, they must report to the assigned institution within a certain time frame. At the time of counselling verification, candidates must bring their original documents/certificates to the designated institutions. Participating Colleges of NIMCET 2025

Colleges in which candidates can take admission on the basis of NIMCET scores are called NIMCET participating colleges. The authorities will release the complete list of NIMCET 2025 participating colleges along with the information brochure. As of last year, there are a total of nine participating institutes, where applicants will be assigned seats based on their NIMCET marks/scores. The National Institute of Technology will admit NIMCET 2024 graduates to the Masters in Computer Applications program. There are approximately 813 seats available for admission in the NIMCET 2025 participating institutes. Allahabad, Agartala, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Kurukshetra (self-financing), Raipur, Surathkal, Warangal, and Tiruchirappalli are among the NIMCET participating institutes. Every year, one of the NIMCET member institutes administers the entrance exam and publishes a merit-based seat allotment list. 

NIMCET 2025 Application Form

The NIMCET 2025 application form is expected to release on March 6, 2025 (tentatively) at nimcet.in. Candidates can fill the application form till April 24, 2025 (tentatively). Candidates shall have to fill out all the required details, such as personal information, academic information, communication address, and so on. They must submit the NIMCET 2025 registration form along with the necessary documents and the application fees before the deadline. Candidates must adhere to the NIMCET eligibility criteria while uploading their photos and signatures. After submitting the application forms, candidates are advised to save a copy of the same for future use.

Steps to Fill Out the NIMCET 2025 Application Form 

Once the application form for NIMCET 2025 is released, aspirants can follow these steps to fill out and submit the registration forms. 

Step 1: Candidates must go to the NIMCET 2025 website - nimcet.in

Step 2: Register as a 'New Candidate' with the required details to generate a login password and user ID

Step 3: Using the login password, sign in and fill out all of the essential information in the application form

Step 4: Following this, candidates must provide scanned pictures of their signatures as well as photographs in the format specified.

Step 5: Pay the requisite application fee for NIMCET 2025

Step 6: Following the payment procedure, the candidate will receive a complete application form with a unique application number.

Step 7: Take a printout of the application form and mail it, along with the necessary papers, to the address provided.

NIMCET Application Form Fee

The application fee is non-refundable in all situations. Credit card/debit card or net banking will be accepted as payment methods. The following is the application cost for the NIMCET 2025:

NIMCET Admit Card 2025

The NIMCET admit card 2025 is likely to release in the online mode on May 28, 2025 (tentatively). Only applicants who submit the application form and pay the registration fee shall be able to obtain the hall ticket by entering their User ID and Password. It is to be noted that the exam authorities do not send admit cards via mail to any candidate. Students must take a printout of the admit card since it is mandatory to present the admission card at the exam hall on the test day. 


NIMCET Exam Pattern 2025

The NIMCET 2025 exam pattern is outlined in the information brochure released by the conducting NIT. The detailed exam pattern will consist of essential information, such as the exam mode and duration, question and marks distribution, marking scheme etc. The NIMCET 2025 exam will be conducted in a single paper containing 120 Multiple-Choice Questions covering the following subjects.
