Formula for Calculating Marks from NIMCET Response Sheet 2025
Candidates can use the formula and the steps provided below to get the scores secured in the exam. Check the formula to check the scores in the NIMCET exam through the response sheet.
Step 1: Divide the Subjects into three sections as per the Marking Scheme
- A = Mathematics
- B = Computer Awareness and Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning
- C = General English
Step 2: Count the Correct Answer & Incorrect Answers by comparing the response sheet with the provisional answer key.
Step 3: Calculate Section wise marks
For Section A (Maths)
- Multiply the total number of correct answers with 12. For example, if someone has secured 5 correct answers in NIMCET Maths sections then
Section A (Original Marks): 5X12=60
- Count the incorrect answers in the Maths section and multiply them by 3. For example, if someone has secured 5 incorrect answers then
Section A(Negative Marks): 5 X 3=15
- Calculate the total marks for Section A
Section A (Secured Marks)= Section A (Orginal Marks) - Section A (Negative Marks)
Section A (Secured Marks) = 60 - 15= 45
For Section B (Computer Awareness and Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning)
- Multiply the total number of correct answers with 6. For example, if someone has secured 15 correct answers in the NIMCET Computer Awareness and Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning sections then
Section B (Original Marks): 15 X 6 = 90
- Count the incorrect answers in the Computer Awareness and Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning sections and multiply them by 1.5. For example, if someone has secured 4 incorrect answers then
Section B (Negative Marks): 4 X 1.5= 6
- Calculate the total marks for Section B
Section B (Secured Marks)= Section B (Orginal Marks) - Section B (Negative Marks)
Section B (Secured Marks) = 90- 6 = 84
For Section C ( General English)
- Multiply the total number of correct answers with 4. For example, if someone has secured 15 correct answers in the NIMCET General English section then
Section C (Original Marks): 15 X 4 = 60
- Count the incorrect answers in the General English section and multiply them by 1. For example, if someone has secured 4 incorrect answers then
Section C (Negative Marks): 5 X 1= 5
- Calculate the total marks for Section C
Section C (Secured Marks) = Section C (Orginal Marks) - Section C (Negative Marks)
Section B (Secured Marks) = 60 - 5= 55
Step 4: Calculate the total marks secured in the NIMCET exam
- Add all the marks from all three sections to calculate the secured marks in the NIMCET exam
- Actual Secured Marks: Section A (Secured Marks) + Section B (Secured Marks) + Section C (Secured Marks)
- Actual Secured Marks: 45+84+55=184
