AP ICET Question Paper 2024 Analysis
The AP ICET question paper 2024 evaluated the thinking, problem-solving, mathematics, and communication skills of candidates through three different sections: Analytical Ability, Mathematical Ability, and Communication Ability. Analytical ability and Math were slightly difficult because of the time-consuming nature of the questions, while Communication Ability appeared quite easy. Thus, it provided adequate opportunity for scoring.
It was all about preparing a smart plan of action and focusing hard on time management and clarity about the concepts. The following is a well-analyzed review indicating different sections in the exam, their topics, the level of difficulty, and the issues the candidates had while answering them.
1. Analytical Ability
The Analytical Ability portion was moderately difficult. The section had two subdivisions: Problem solving and data sufficiency, and the Problem Solving questions were quite challenging. Typical problems in this section were Number Series, Blood Relations, and Arrangement of Seating. To solve them, an analytical mind and time had to go together. This type of problem requires step-by-step techniques in its solution. Hence, time management becomes all the more decisive while solving such problems. Opposite to that, the second part of the section, Data Sufficiency, was easier to solve, and candidates were asked whether the provided data were sufficient in answering the question or not. In this part, analogies, ratios, time-distance problems, and percentages formed a huge chunk. From this portion, many started off with the easy questions and managed time well.
2. Mathematical Ability
Moderately difficult and lengthy, the Mathematical Ability section dealt with simple formula-based questions on Profit & Loss, Time & Work, and Percentages enabled swift answering by those adequately prepared. In contrast, the other sections, including Algebra, Probability, and Geometry, demanded a deeper conceptual understanding and required more time for solving. It was noted that as most of the statistical questions were computation-heavy, some proved to be rather difficult. Length increased the difficulty level by presenting a challenge to the stamina and time management of candidates. While the section was manageable enough for most students who practiced regularly, it was very important to prioritize the easier questions and leave time for the time-consuming ones.
3. Communication Ability
The section on Communication Ability was comparatively easier than the first two. The vocabulary-type questions covering synonyms, antonyms, and idioms were straightforward for candidates having a background in common English words and phrases. Functional Grammar questions on sentence completion were very simple and just needed some attention to detail. The Reading Comprehension passages were of moderate length; thus, focused reading and comprehension speed were key to answering correctly within the stipulated time. The questions on Business and Computer Terminology were moderately hard as they required some familiarity with the technical vocabulary. Overall, it was regarded as a scoring opportunity for those who had a good command of languages and practiced Comprehension regularly.
