CEED Cutoff 2025

IIT Bombay published the cut-off marks for Part A of CEED 2025 on February 8, 2024. These cut-offs are presented through mean and standard deviations, with Part A having a mean of 41.90 and a standard deviation of 16.72. In CEED 2023, the mean deviation was 22.59, and the standard deviation was 11.82. The Part A cut-off represents the minimum score required to qualify for further consideration, and the Part B answer sheet is assessed only if the candidate meets this criterion. All qualifying candidates receive a CEED merit rank. It is important to note that the Part A cut-off is not the admission cut-off; the admission cut-off for CEED 2024 will be determined by CEED 2025 participating institutes. This admission cut-off represents the minimum mark or rank necessary for admission to the M.Des program. The CEED 2025 results are set to be declared on March 6, 2024.

CEED Admission Cutoff Vs Part A Cutoff

For CEED 2024, there are two distinct cutoffs:

    • Part A CEED Cutoff: This represents the minimum score required in Part A to secure a spot on the shortlist. It's important to note that the evaluation of the Part B answer booklet is contingent upon the candidate making this shortlist. The release date for the Part A cutoff is scheduled for February 8, 2024.
    • Admission CEED Cutoff: Participating institutes will determine this cutoff, taking into account factors such as the number of applications, merit ranks of applicants, seat availability, and the candidate's category. The admission cutoff will be released during the seat allotment process.

Note: The merit rank, which is used for admission purposes, is calculated by assigning a weightage of 25% to Part A and 75% to Part B.

    CEED Cutoff 2025 Highlights

The students must check the important highlights that they should know before appearing for the CEED 2024 entrance examination and the CEED 2024 cutoff as mentioned below.

    • CEED 2024 entrance examination is divided into two parts- Part A and Part B.
    • Part A acts as a screening test for Part B. Part B is evaluated only if the students obtain minimum cutoff marks for Part A.
    • The merit list is generated by taking into account marks obtained in both Part A and Part B. The weightage for Part B is 75% while it is 25% for marks obtained in Part A. The students are called for counselling only after calculating the marks of both parts.
    • The closing rank up to which the students can take admission in Design courses will be the cutoff for CEED 2024.
    • Every participating college of CEED 2024 will have a different cutoff and it varies from college to college.

CEED Cutoff 2025 for Part A

To qualify for Part A, aspiring students need to achieve the specified minimum percentage of CEED total marks based on their category. The CEED cutoff for Part A in 2024 will be calculated according to the aspects mentioned in the table corresponding to each category.

The formula µ + (σ*2) = δ represents the relationship where µ and σ stand for the average marks and standard deviation, respectively, of all candidates in CEED Part-A. Both µ and σ will be rounded off to two decimal places.

For OBC-NCL category candidates, the cutoff will be 0.9δ.

The cutoff for SC, ST, and PWD categories will be 0.5δ.

    CEED 2025 Cutoff Part B

Part B comprises a total of 5 questions of 100 marks. By using the formula given below, a normalised score ‘S’ will be calculated. Part-B answer books will be evaluated manually for candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of Part A.

    S = {(m − μi) Σ / σi} + A, wherein

    • m= raw marks obtained in question i

    • μi = the average of the raw marks obtained by all candidates who attempt for the question i

    • σi = the standard deviation of the raw marks obtained by the candidates who answered the question i

    • A = 20 and Σ = 5 the average and the standard deviation, respectively, for the distribution of scores ‘S’. If the calculated ‘S’ score for any candidates is below 0, all such scores will be capped at 0, and if the calculated ‘S’ score for any candidate is above 40, all such scores will be capped at 40.

Marks obtained by the candidate in other questions in Part B will be added to ‘S’ for securing the part B score.
