Which participating colleges can I get admitted to based on my CEED cutoff score?
Based on their CEED cutoff score, students can get admitted to nearly eight participating colleges for both MDes and PhD in Design courses. The list of institutions includes IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IISc Bangalore.
There is no CEED cutoff for Part B of the examination as it is a subjective test. Keep in mind that the Part B answer sheet will only be reviewed if the applicant is selected for further consideration. For admissions purposes, the merit rank is calculated by assigning 25% of the weight to CEED Part A and 75% to Part B of the exam.
Based on the conducting body’s official website, the revised formula for calculating the CEED cutoff is “µ + (σ 2) = δ”. In this formula, µ and σ are the average and standard deviation of the breakdown of scores earned by every applicant in CEED Part-A.
The minimum qualifying percentage for CEED Part A differs based on a student’s category which is required of them to get shortlisted for Part B. For the Open/ General and OBC (NCL) categories, the typical minimum qualifying percentage for part A is 10% and 9%, respectively. While the cutoff does not apply to ST/ SC /PwD categories, certain colleges require candidates to score at least 5%.
Can I obtain admission to the MDes course if I do not meet the CEED cutoff for Part A?
No, a student cannot obtain admission to the MDes course if they do not meet the CEED cutoff for Part A. Therefore, you will not be considered for further consideration or have your Part B answer booklets examined if you fail to meet the CEED Part A cut-off marks. Additionally, keep in mind that only those who have been shortlisted will receive a merit rank in the CEED exam.
