JEE Main 2025 Exam: NTA will release the JEE Main admit card 2025 for the session 1 exam three days before the exam, i.e., January 19, 2025. The JEE Main exam is scheduled from January 22 to 31, 2025. JEE Main 2025 Session 1 Application Form Correction Window is closed on November 27, 2024. Candidates were able to rectify errors and edit the registration form from jeemain.nta.nic.in. The National Testing Agency (NTA) activated the JEE Main 2025 Application Form Correction Window on November 26, 2024.

Along with the notification for the January session, NTA has also announced the JEE Main exam schedule for the April session 2025. According to the notification brochure, the JEE Main Session 2 exam will be conducted from April 1 to 8, 2025, whereas the JEE Main Application Form 2025 can be filled out from January 31 to February 24, 2025. Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) revised the JEE Main exam pattern on October 17, 2024. According to the JEE Main new exam pattern, Section B in all papers will have only 5 questions and all questions will be mandatory.  Earlier, section B in the JEE Main exam had 10 questions in which candidates had to solve any 5. Meanwhile, the NTA official website for the JEE Main 2025 exam has been updated and is ready to release for the new updates.

Candidates qualified for the 10+2 can appear for the NTA JEE Main exam 2025. However, candidates must meet the JEE Main 2025 eligibility criteria to complete the application form. On the other hand, candidates have to pay INR 1000 for unreserved males, INR 800 for unreserved females, and INR 500 for reserved categories as a fee for the JEE Main application form 2025.

JEE Main 2025 Application Form Correction Window for Session 1 

November 26, 2024: JEE Main 2025 Application FormCorrection Window for Session 1 is activated at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The window is open from November 26, 2024, to November 27, 2024. 

November 22, 2024: The NTA closed the application window for registration on November 22, 2024. and NTA will release the application correction window to modify/edit the application form on November 26 & 27, 2024.

November 18, 2024: The NTA released the JEE Main application correction dates through the notification. The candidates will be able to modify their JEE Main application form on November 26 & 27, 2024.

November 6, 2024: The NTA released an advisory for filling out the JEE Main 2025 exam. According to the released notice, If candidates receive a pop-up for name mismatch, they have to close the pop-up and add their name as per their Aadhaar Card. Both the names on the Aadhaar card and educational certificate must be the same to fill out the JEE Main application for 2025. 

November 5, 2024: The JEE Main 2025 application form is underway, and the aspirants must fill out the NTA JEE Main Online Form as soon as possible to avoid any last-minute hassle.

October 29, 2024: NTA released the JEE Main 2025 Papers 1 and 2 syllabus. The JEE Main syllabus has been released as a PDF that comprises the syllabus for B.Tech/BE, BArch, and BPlan. Candidates can download the latest syllabus for the JEE Main exam here.

October 28, 2024: NTA has released the JEE Main Session 1 2025 dates at jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Main 2025 will be conducted in two phases - January & April. JEE Main Application Form 2025 for the January Session is released on October 28, 2025, and can be filled till November 22, 2025. JEE Main Results 2025 for Session 1 will be released by February 12, 2025.

October 26, 2024: The NTA released the notification for the PwD (person with disabilities) regarding the PwD and PwBD (person with benchmark disabilities). According to the notification, the PwD & PwBD candidates will be given an extra one hour in the JEE Main 2025 exam, i.e., PwD & PwBD candidates will be provided 4 hours to complete the JEE Main exam instead of 3 hours, and the candidates can request a scribe (if needed) for the exam.

October 25, 2024: The NTA reset the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in for the upcoming JEE Main 2025 events. 

October 17, 2024: The NTA revised the JEE Main exam pattern 2025. According to the JEE Main new exam pattern, section B for all papers will comprise only 5 Numerical Value Questions (NVQs) instead of 10. The NTA discontinued the optional question in Section B, which was introduced after the COVID era for the ease of candidates. Now all the NVQs will be compulsory from Section B and no optional question will be provided in the JEE Main 2025 Question Paper

JEE Main 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for the JEE Main exam 2025, candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria is prescribed age limit, educational qualification, nationality, etc. Check the overview of the JEE Main eligibility criteria 2025 below:

  • Must have qualified higher secondary (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or appear in the final year of 10+2

NTA releases the JEE Main answer key in two steps: i) Provisional Answer Key and ii) Final Answer Key. How to Raise Objection Against the JEE Main Answer Key @jeemain.nta.ac.in 

To raise objections against the JEE Main provisional answer key candidates have to log in to their registered account. Check the detailed steps to object the JEE 2025 answer key below:

  • Go to the official website for JEE Main 2025
  • Log in to your registered account using the application number and date of birth or password 
  • Click on the ‘Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key’ button 
  • Click on the question ID to challenge the question 
  • Select the correct option from the answers given 
  • Upload the supporting documents if required to challenge the question
  • Click on the ‘Save Claim’ button 
  • Repeat the process to challenge other questions 
  • Check the Question ID after submitting the claims 
  • Finally, pay the answer key challenge fee 

Fees for Challenging JEE Main 2025 Answer Key 

Candidates have to pay INR 200 per question to challenge the JEE Main Provisional answer key. The candidates must know that the JEE Main Answer Key challenging fee is nonrefundable in any case. The challenge for the question can be accepted and the correct answer gets released in the final answer key but the JEE answer key challenge fee will not be refunded.

After the scrutiny of the objections raised by the candidates against the JEE provisional answer key, the final answer key is released. Is the JEE Mains 2025 registration started?

JEE Mains 2025 Registration commenced on October 28, 2024. Candidates were able to register for JEE Mains session 1 till November 22, 2024, with no extensions till 9:00 PM. 
 

What is the cutoff of JEE Mains 2025?

JEE Mains 2025 expected is 90.78 for General, 0.001 for Gen-PwD, 75.62 for EWS, 73.61 for OBC-NCL, 51.98 for SC and 37.23 for ST. 

Is the JEE Mains 2025 syllabus out?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the JEE Main Syllabus 2025 PDF for Paper 1, Paper 2A and 2B. The JEE Main Syllabus 2025 PDF can be checked and downloaded from the official website of NTA i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in. As per the latest syllabus of JEE Mains, NTA has removed a few topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
 

Is the JEE Main 2025 admit card released?

JEE Main 2025 Session 1 Admit Card will be available three days before the start of the exam, and candidates can access it by logging in with their registration number and date of birth.
 

What is the date of JEE Mains 2025?

JEE Main Exam 2025 Session 1 Dates have been scheduled between January 22 and 31, 2025. However, JEE Main session 2 dates are yet to be announced and will be conducted from April 2025. 
 

Is the JEE Main Information Bulletin 2025 released?

Yes the jee main information bulletin for 2025 has been released at jeemain.nta.nic.in 2025.

Can candidates from a Commerce background apply for JEE Mains 2025?

Candidates from Commerce or any other background not related to science are not eligible to appear for the JEE Main 2025 exam as the candidates have to fulfill the subject criteria- Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as subjects in Class 12. 

 

Is there any negative marking in JEE Main 2025?

Yes, the JEE Main exam 2025 does follow a negative marking scheme. However, the negative marking scheme is only applied to section A. Candidates will be awarded +4 marks for the correct answers, 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answers, and no deductions will be made for unattempted questions. On the other hand, Section B does not have any negative marking scheme. 

 

What are the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2025?

The JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2025 has not been released yet for the upcoming session. However, the candidates can check the eligibility criteria based on the previous sessions below:

  • Candidates must have qualified 10+2 in 2023, 2024 or appearing in Class 12 in 2025 
  • To get admission through the JEE Main exam, candidates must have qualified the 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised central board or state board
  • There is no age limit to appear for the JEE Main exam

Is 75% marks required for the IITs in Class 12?

Yes, candidates have to secure an overall percentage of 75 in class 12 to get admission in IITs or NITs. The candidates who have scored 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Physics but lag an overall percentage of 75 will not be accepted to the IITs or NITs.

Do I need to fill separate JEE Main application form for different sessions?

Yes, the candidates have to fill out separate  JEE Main application forms for different sessions. However, candidates can use login credentials from the previous session to apply for the next session and personal details will be fetched in the application form from the previous registrations. Candidates will only have to provide the test papers and application fees for the next session.

What is the JEE Main application fee 2025?

The JEE Main application fee differs from category to category. Candidates can check the JEE Main category-wise application fee below:

Male Unreserved/OBC/EWS: 

  • INR 1000 (For Centres in India)
  • INR 500 (For Centres Outside India)

Female Unreserved/OBC/EWS

  • INR 800 (For Centres in India)
  • INR 4000 (For Centres Outside India)

SC/ST/PwD/Transgender

  • INR 500 (Centres in India)
  • INR 2500 (Centres Outside India)

What is the mode of payment for JEE Main application form 2025?

The JEE Main application fee can be paid through UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card, or Internet Banking. Candidates will not be allowed to pay the JEE main registration fee through Demand Draft (DD), Money Order, Bank Transfer, or any other offline methods. While paying the JEE main online application fees, candidates must ensure wether have the proper balance in the account or it will be difficult to try again and again to pay the fees.

 No, there are no specific fees to make corrections to the JEE Main application form. However, the correction fee is only applicable if the candidate changes the category in the application form. The corrections can be done only on the student’s dashboard using the registration ID and date of birth. Will JEE Main be easy?

JEE Main can be easy or hard. The level of the question can be hard as well as easy. Candidates should not be focusing on the difficulty level and concentrate on the preparation strategy. 
 

Are NCERT books enough for cracking JEE Main?

NCERT books are helpful for candidates as it covers the base of the exam. In a recent interaction with the toppers of JEE Main and previous years, it is conveyed that NCERT is enough for a healthy preparation for JEE Main exam. Other JEE Main reference books by RD Sharma, H.C Verma, D. C Pandey, IE Irodov, etc can be referred by the candidates. 
 

Can I crack JEE Main if I start preparing 6 months before?
