RBSE Rajasthan Board Class 10th Grading System: Calculation of Grade Point Average using Percentage
To calculate Grade Points, the following formula is to be used:
CGPA Formula = Total of grade points obtained in subjects / Total number of subjects.
*The detailed explanation of the method to calculate the Grade Points of a subject, using the marks, has already been provided in the table given above.
- After calculating the grade points of each subject, add all the grade points.
- Divide the sum of the grade points by the total number of subjects and the final value thus obtained will be the RBSE Board Grade Point Average (GPA).
- The overall Rajasthan Board GPA is computed by multiplying the calculated grade point by the number of subjects.
For eg, suppose a Rajasthan Board Class 10 student secures 8 Grade points in English, 8 in Hindi, 9 in Mathematics, 6 in Science, and 9 in Social Science.
Representing this in a tabular form:
Subject | Grades | Grade Points |
---|---|---|
English | B1 | 8 |
Hindi | B1 | 8 |
Maths | A | 9 |
Chemistry | C1 | 6 |
Physics | A | 9 |
So, as per the data, the sum of the grade points i.e. 8+8+9+6+9 = 40. Now, if we divide this sum by the total number of subjects, we get 8 as the GPA i.e. 40/5 = 8.
So, the Overall GPA is 8 and the grade is B1.
Conversion of GPA to Percentage
- To calculate the percentage using the GPA scores, the following formula is to be used:
- Percentage = GPA X 9.5
- For eg, Percentage in Above Example = 8 X 9.5 = 76%
