Tamil Nadu 10th Passing Marks for Theory and Practical 2025:
The Directorate of Government Examination (DGE), Tamil Nadu has set guidelines related to the Tamil Nadu Board 10th Passing Marks.
As per the guidelines, you are required to score a minimum of 35% marks in each subject, which includes the theory and practical examinations.
It is mandatory to score 35 marks out of 100 in order to pass all the subjects in the TN 10th exam 2025. There are 5 compulsory subjects and 1 optional subject that students will have to appear for in the
Tamil Nadu SSLC exam 2025.
In the practical-based subject, you need to acquire at least 20 out of 75 in theory paper and 15 out of 25 in practical exam. The

All the science subjects will be divided into two papers, theory and practical. In the subjects with practicals, the theory paper will carry 75 marks, while the remaining 25 marks will be in the practical paper. Whereas, the language papers will be divided into two papers: Paper I and Paper II. You are required to obtain at least a grade D in all subjects to clear Tamil Nadu class 10th exam. Tamil Nadu 10th Passing Marks for Theory Exam 2025
The maximum marks for all the subjects are 100 marks. The TN Board 10th exam for science subjects are divided into 75 marks theory paper and 25 practical paper. The state board will conduct the practical exams for the science subjects. The TN SSLC practical exams will be held for 25 marks. To pass the Tamil Nadu 10th practical exam, students are required to secure a minimum of 15 marks in the practicals. Students can go through the important points mentioned below regarding the Tamil Nadu Class 10 passing marks:- TN SSLC Passing Marks 2025 in Optional Languages, including Telugu, Arabic, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, French and Urdu have not been prescribed.
- The marks that students will secure in this subject will not be taken into consideration for declaring a student Pass in the TN 10th exam.
- Students need to prepare for 5 mandatory subjects in the TN SSLC exam. The maximum marks in these subjects are 100 marks. Therefore, total marks for TN 10th in all subjects are 500 marks.
- It is mandatory to secure at least 35% of total marks to get passing marks or grades. Students must secure at least 175 marks out of 500 to get TN SSLC Passing Marks 2025.
- Migration Certificates will only be issued to the candidates who have passed the Tamil Nadu SSLC board exams.
