West Bengal Madhyamik Grading System 2025 is a seven-point grading system. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education follows a grading system that includes grades from AA to D. Among all the grades, AA is the highest and D is the lowest grade. The students are provided grades according to the total marks scored by them in a subject. Students must pass the subject in both theory and practical exams. Students who score above 90 marks are awarded with "AA" grade. The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) will declare the West Bengal HS Result 2025 in May 2025. The state board will also release the West Bengal HS Toppers 2025 along with the results.

The marksheet will be available to the students one week after the result declaration. It is to be collected by visiting the school premises. The marksheet will include the subject-wise grades of the students along with an overall grade achieved by the student based on the grading system followed by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. West Bengal Madhyamik Grading System 2025 is a seven-point grading system used to provide grades to students. AA is the highest grade awarded to students with marks between 90 to 100. To pass the Madhyamik exams, students must aim at achieving at least a grade of "C". Check out the table below to understand the grades and remarks provided according to marks.

West Bengal Madhyamik Marking Scheme 2025

The theory and practical papers for the different subjects will be conducted for different marks. Check out the marking scheme for the different subjects included in the curriculum from the pointers given below:

  • First Languages: Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Modern Tibetan, Nepali, Odia, Gurumukhi (Punjabi), Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Santali.
  • Second languages: 1) English, if any language other than English is offered as a First Language.
  • 2) Bengali or Nepali, if English is the First Language.
  • Examination in Sewing and Needlework will be of four hours fifteen minutes duration.
  • Examination in Music Vocal & Music Instrumental will be of two hours fifteen minutes duration for Theoretical Portion.
  • The examination on Computer Applications will be of two hours forty-five minutes duration on theoretical Examination. Practical Examination on this subject will be taken by individual schools.
  • Examination on Vocational Subjects will be of one hour forty-five minutes duration on theoretical Examination. Practical Examinations on these subjects will be taken by the Sector Skill Council or individual schools.

West Bengal Madhaymik Passing Criteria 2025

There are a total of 8 Compulsory subjects in West Bengal Madhyamik Pariksha 2025. As per the West Bengal Madhyamik marking scheme 2025, students are required to obtain 272 out of 800 marks to pass the exam. In other words, students need to secure 34% or Grade C as per the West Bengal Madhyamik/10th exam 2025 marking scheme to pass the class 10th exam. Students who fail to secure a minimum of 34% marks or Grade C in the overall result can take the compartment exam to improve their results. West Bengal Madhaymik Division Classification 2025

Based on marks obtained, Students will be classified under the following division system for West Bengal Madhyamik 2025 is provided below:

West Bengal Madhyamik Supplementary Exam 2025

Students who fail to achieve the minimum passing marks will be liable to sit for the compartment exams. A notification will be published on the official website of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education after the result declaration which will include the information about the compartment exam. Students can fill out the application form for the supplementary exam with the help of their school authorities. A nominal amount of application fees is to be submitted along with the application form for it to be considered. After the application forms are successfully submitted, the West Bengal Madhyamik Supplementary Exam Routine 2025 will also be published online. The result of the supplementary exam will be available on the official website of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. West Bengal Madhyamik Supplementary Result 2025 will be declared in August 2025. Students will get their supplementary marksheet after the result declaration. It must be collected from the respective school premises.
