West Bengal Madhyamik Class 10th Grading System 2024 is a seven-point grading system. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education follows a grading system that includes grades from AA to D. Among all the grades, AA is the highest and D is the lowest grade. The students are provided grades according to the total marks scored by them in a subject. It is necessary for students to pass the subject in both theory and practical exam. The students who score above 90 marks are awarded with "AA" grade. The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has declared the West Bengal HS Result 2024 on May 2, 2024 at 9 am. The overall pass percentage this year was recorded at 86.31 per cent. Out of the total 9,12,598 students appeared for the exams including 4,03,900 boys and 5,08,698 girls, as many as 7,64,252 students cleared the exam. The state board also released the West Bengal HS Toppers 2024 as per which Cooch Behar’s Chandrachur Sen emerged as the Madhyamik exam topper.

West Bengal Madhyamik Grading System 2024 is a seven-points grading system used to provide grades to students. AA is the highest grade awarded to students with marks between 90 to 100. West Bengal Madhaymik Pariksha 2024: Marking Scheme

There are a total of 8 compulsory subjects, which include three language subjects along with Mathematics, Life sciences and so on. Each subject has an assessment based on written as well as oral parameters.

  • Oral in Mathematics would be taken in the 2nd Unit Test
  • The written examination in mathematics for Board Examination will be held on 90 marks including 20 marks in Mathematics-objectives.
  • Oral in all second languages of 10 marks would be taken in the Board Examination.
  • The written examination in all second language for Board Examination will be held on 90 marks.
  • Optional elective subjects will also be assessed by the Board but the marks or grades awarded for this subject will not affect the overall score.

West Bengal Madhaymik Pariksha 2024: Passing Criteria

There are a total of 8 Compulsory subjects in West Bengal Madhyamik Pariksha 2024. As per the West Bengal Madhyamik marking scheme 2024, students are required to obtain 272 out of 800 marks to pass the exam. In other words, students need to secure 34% or Grade C as per the West Bengal Madhyamik/10th exam 2024 marking scheme to pass the class 10th exam. Students who fail to secure a minimum of 34% marks or Grade C in the overall result can take the compartment exam to improve their results.
