Assam HSLC, HS Board 2025 Overview
A Board of Secondary Education was established in the state to oversee, control, and advance Secondary Education in Assam by enacting the Assam Act, XXV of 1961 (Assam Secondary Education Act, 1961). After the Government of Assam, the Education Department Notification was published on January 29, 1962. As a result, on March 14, 1962, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (often abbreviated SEBA), was established. AHSEC, an acronym for Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, is a board of education under the state government of Assam. It is the regulating body for higher secondary (10+2 stage) education in Assam.The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council was established by the Assam government on June 1, 1984, to regulate, supervise and develop the higher secondary education system in the State of Assam. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that Class 10 Board Exams will be discontinued in the state from 2025 onwards. On Monday, June 5, 2023, the Assam CM also confirmed that both the boards - SEBA and AHSEC will now be merged to form a single education board in Assam. Assam HS timetable will be released as a pdf file containing the subject name, exam date, and time. To align with the suggestions made under National Education Policy, NEP 2020, the board exams for Class 10, also known as matriculation exams, will be discontinued to provide students with a seamless transition from Class 10 to Higher Secondary.

Assam HSLC, HS Board 2025 Date Sheet
"From now onwards, there will be no such examinations called Matriculation or Matric exams. The focus will be on a pass or fail system within the school itself. The decision has been taken to ensure students can begin their studies for Classes 11 and 12 right after completing Class 10," stated CM Sarma to local media. Explaining this decision, CM Sarma shared that the Class 10 Exams will no longer be known as the Matric exams but will be conducted by schools or academic councils at the district level. The examinations will be internal and held in accordance with the "5+3+3+4" system introduced in NEP 2020.Assam Board has released the Assam 10th exam dates and is likely to release the 12th timetable 2025 in December 2024. The practical exams for class 10 will be held in February and in two shifts. The Assam HS practical exams will be conducted between Janary and February 2025. The topic name, exam date, and time will be made available in the HS Routine 2025. AHSEC will conduct the Assam Board 12th exams 2025 in two shifts. The first shift exams are conducted for most of the papers from 9 am to 12 pm, while a few paper exams are conducted between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm.

The AHSEC will announce the registration dates for the HS final examination. Regular students will be distributed the registration forms by the schools. To avoid late fees, students had to apply before the deadline. Students should fill their registration form for the class 12th examinations with the right information, especially spelling, and date of birth. Students must also pay the registration fees for the board exams, and photographs. Students are advised to fill out the forms carefully because modifications will not be allowed once the application has been submitted. Assam HSLC, HS Board 2025 Syllabus
Board of Secondary Education, Assam published the Assam SEBA HSLC syllabus 2024-25 for the class 10 students. The board has released the Assam SEBA HSLC syllabus 2025 online on its official website at www.sebaonline.org . It is important to note that the board has made no changes in this year's Assam SEBA syllabus as compared to last year's.
AHSEC made changes to the Assam HS Alternative English syllabus 2024-25. The textbook 'VIBGYOR' will now be replaced by 'Harmony: An Anthology of Prose and Poetry.' The Assam class 12th exam 2025 syllabus has been the same as last year's. The last update to the Assam Class 12th Boards was made for the academic year 2023 for both first and second-year exams for each subject and the marks distribution. The Assam 10th, 12th syllabus 2023 comprises all the topics and subtopics for each subject. SEBA will conduct the Assam Class 12th exams 2024-25 in March 2025, while the Assam Class 10th board exams will be conducted internally, similar to that of class 9.
