About NIOS Board
The National Institute of Open Learning was created to provide a platform for students who are not able to attend school like regular students. Under NIOS, students can register themselves for Secondary And Higher secondary exams online. The registration forms are submitted throughout the years with the help of the respective Institute. Public examinations are conducted for 10th and 12th students twice per year. A total of 9 examinations are offered to the students in a total of 5 years. Students can appear for the exams according to their preparation. An on-demand examination option is also provided for the students to appear for the exams. A bunch of language as well as elective subjects are available for both secondary and senior secondary classes to be chosen according to the interest of the students.

About NIOS Class 10th
The National Institute of Open Learning provides a course that is similar to that of class 10th for most of the boards available in India. There is no upper age limit to take admission in class 10th however students must be 14 years of age to be eligible to sit for the secondary exam. Students are also free to choose their medium of instruction from the following languages Hindi, English, Urdu, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Tamil, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese, Sanskrit, and Kannada. NIOS 10th Board 2025 is usually conducted twice a year. Students can also appear for on-demand examinations according to the latest amendments made to the curriculum. About NIOS Class 12th
Students who have completed class 10th exams from a recognized board can apply for class 12th exams directly. Even the students who have given NIOS 10th Board can apply for the NIOS 12th Board 2025 after 1 year gap. The subjects available for senior secondary board exams in NIOS are Hindi, English, Bengali, Odia, Tamil, Urdu, Sanskrit, Gujarati, Punjabi, Persian, Arabic, Malayalam, Sindhi, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Psychology, Computer Science, Sociology, Painting, Environmental Science, etc. Students can choose the subjects according to their choice.

NIOS Class 10, 12 Admit Card 2025
The admit cards will only be available for the students if they have paid the application fees for the exams conducted by the NIOS authorities. The students can download their admit cards by visiting the official website.

NIOS 10th 12th On-Demand Exams 2025
NIOS authorities have been working on on-demand examinations to make the environment of open learning more flexible. On-demand examinations are available for students so they can walk into an examination center and take this secondary and senior secondary examination whenever they feel ready. The computer will randomly generate a set of question papers, and questions will be provided to the student to attempt. The on-demand examination (ODE) will offer multiple advantages to the students as it provides them with more flexibility in terms of education and prevents stress. The ODE results are declared through the NIOS website during the last week of every month for the examination conducted during the preceding month. Check the procedure given below to apply for ODE:
- Step 1: Visit the official portal of NIOS at nios.ac.in
- Step 2: Under On-Demand Examination, click upon the Registration for Examination only for existing learners (at the bottom).
- Step 3: Enter your Enrolment Number and click the Submit button (The registration is valid only for those students who have already taken admission)
- Step 5: Fill out the registration form.
- Step 6: Select your Exam Centre. The choice of Examination Centre can be your concerned Regional Centre or at the HQ NOIDA or the Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs)).
- Step 7: Register only for those subjects for which you have taken admission.
- Step 8: Now, complete the payment process.
NIOS Class 10, 12 Grading System 2025
Grades A to E are provided by NIOS based on the number of marks the students have achieved in the different subjects selected by them. Check out the grading system from the pointers given below.
- Grade A: 80% and above
- Grade B: 60% to 79%
- Grade C: 40% to 59%
- Grade D: 33% to 39%
- Grade E: Below 33%
NIOS Class 10, 12 Passing Marks 2025
The following criteria will be followed by NIOS to declare the students pass or fail according to the marks that they have secured in the exam:
