CBSE Class 12 Marking Scheme 2023-24: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released CBSE Class 12 marking scheme 2023-24 for all subjects on its official website. Like the previous year, this year as well, CBSE will conduct only one annual exam. The CBSE Class 12 Exam 2024 will be conducted with 100% CBSE Class 12 syllabus 2023-24 this year. All questions will be subjective in nature. The CBSE Class 12 marking scheme includes 40% competency-focused questions (case-based or source-based), 20% select response-type questions (MCQs), and Remaining 40% will be short and long answer-type questions.

The CBSE class 12th exam 2024 will begin on February 15, 2024 and conclude in April 2024 . The detailed CBSE 12th time table 2024 will be released in the last week of December 2023. In this article, we have provided the subject-wise CBSE Class 12 weightage distribution to assist students in planning their board exams. CBSE Class 12 Assessment Policy 2024

The Central Board of Secondary Education announced that there will be no term-wise exam for the academic session 2023-24; only one term or one board examination will be conducted as was the norm earlier. As per the CBSE Curriculum 2023-24, the entire CBSE Class 12 syllabus would be asked in the final examinations. However, the exam pattern has been modified. As per the guidelines and Moderation Policy to be announced by the Board, more efforts will be given to make Internal Assessment/ Practical Project work more credible and valid to ensure fair distribution of marks.

CBSE Class 12 Qualifying Parameters 2024

According to the latest marking scheme for the academic year 2023-24 provided by the CBSE, students are required to get a minimum of 33% to pass the board exam, including theory, practical and internal assessments. Moreover, the students must secure at least 33% aggregate marks in order to pass the board exam. The marks division will be as per the pre covid era i.e. 70 for theory and 30 for practical and assessments.

CBSE Class 12 Physics question paper will comprise a total of five sections A, B, C, D and E. It is cumpulsory for all the students to attempt all the sections. There are a total of 35 questions in the question paper.

  • Section A will have eighteen Multiple Choice Questions, and each question carrying 1 mark.
  • Section B will comprise seven questions, and each question carrying 2 marks.

CBSE Class 12 Biology Question Paper Pattern 2024

In CBSE Class 12 Biology question paper, all questions are compulsory. The question paper will have five sections: Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D and Section E. There are a total of 33 questions in the question paper.

  • Section A will have 16 questions, and each question carrying 1 mark.
  • Section B will comprise 5 questions, and each question carrying 2 marks.
  • Section C will have 7 questions, and each question carrying 3 marks.

  • Unseen passage (factual, descriptive or literary/ discursive or persuasive) – 10 marks
  • Case Based Unseen (Factual) Passage – 10 Marks

Section B: Creative Writing Skills:

  • Notice up to 50 words – 5 Marks
  • Formal/Informal Invitation and Reply up to 50 words – 5 Marks
  • Letters based on verbal/visual input, to be answered in approximately 120-150 words – 5 Marks
  • Article/ Report Writing, descriptive and analytical in nature, based on verbal inputs, to be answered in 120-150 words – 5 Marks.

Section C:

This section will have a variety of assessment items including Multiple Choice Questions, Objective Type Questions, Short Answer Type Questions and Long Answer Type Questions to assess comprehension, analysis, interpretation and extrapolation beyond the text.
