CBSE Class 12 Geography Exam Pattern 2025:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) revised the CBSE 12th Geography Exam Pattern 2025 in April 2024. Students appearing for the upcoming exams can check and download the CBSE 12th Geography Blueprint 2025 from the CBSE's official website at cbse.nic.in. In the AY 2025, the percentage of competency-based questions (MCQs and case-based questions) increased from 40% to 50%. While constructed response questions (short and long answer questions) have been reduced from 40% to 30%. The theory paper for CBSE class 12 geography will be conducted for 70 marks. Whereas, the CBSE 12th geography practical examination has a weightage of 30 marks in total. The

consists of two books, Fundamental of Human Geography which has 3 units, and India People and Economy which comprises 5 units. The CBSE 12th Geography question paper contains 30 questions, where all questions are compulsory.
The CBSE Class 12 exam 2025 will begin on February 15, 2025. The detailed

will be released in December 2024 tentatively. The revised pattern is aligned with the National Education Policy, 2020. The maximum marks allotted for the CBSE Class 12 Geography Blueprint 2025 is 100. The Fundamentals of Human Geography book of geography syllabus contains 8 chapters. CBSE Class 12 Geography Question Paper Pattern 2025
The question paper of the CBSE Class 12 Geography exam 2025 will contain 30 questions including MCQs, short answer, Source-based, and long answer questions. All questions will be compulsory. The question paper will contain five sections. Sections A, B, C, D, and E.- In Section A, Questions number 1 to 17 will be Multiple Choice type questions carrying 1 mark each.
- In Section B, Questions 18 and 19 will be Source-based questions with 3 marks each.
- In Section C, Questions number 20 to 23 will be Short Answer type questions carrying 3 marks each. Answers to these questions shall range from 80 to 100 words.
- In Section D, Questions number 24 to 28 will be Long Answer type questions with 5 marks each. Answers to these questions shall range from 120 to 150 words.
- Section E will have Questions number 29 and 30 which will be Map-based questions.
