UP Board Passing Marks for Class 12th 2025 are 33%. Students are required to score a minimum of 33 marks out of the total hundred allotted for each subject. Students need to also get 33% marks out of the overall aggregate total. The theory exams are often conducted for 70 marks and the rest 30 marks are provided for the practical exams. For language subjects, the theory paper is conducted for 100 marks. A separate grading system is followed by UPMSP for both theory and practical exams.
For theory papers, the highest grade is A1 and for practical exams the highest grade is A. Students are required to get a grade above D to be considered pass in theory paper. For practical exams, students are required to get above E grade to be considered pass and move on to the next level. UP Board Passing Marks for Class 12th 2025 - Theory
Students are required to score 33% marks separately in theory as well as practical exams to pass the UP 12th Board 2025. Most of the papers in UP Board are conducted for a total of 100 marks however some are conducted for 70 marks with a practical paper of 30 marks. UP Board Passing Marks for Class 12 2025 - Practical
Students need to secure 33% marks in practical exams to be considered “Pass”. If the students fail to achieve minimum passing marks in practical exams, they will not be given the passing certificate and will be considered “Fail”
UP Board 12th Grading System 2025 for Theory Exams

UP Board 12th Grading System 2025 for Practical

Students will only be able to get their passing certificate if they get passing marks in both theory and practical exams conducted by Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad. For students who fail to get passing marks, UPMSP will provide an opportunity for them to apply for compartment exams through which they can save one academic year. The passing marks for compartment exams and regular exams are similar.
