Reasons Behind CBSE Class 12 Biology Deleted Syllabus 2024-25
- In 2020, the NCERT initiated significant changes to biology textbooks, with a particular focus on the deleted syllabus of Biology Class 12.
- These changes were driven by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to modernize and enhance the learning experience.
- NEP 2020 prioritizes experiential learning over rote memory by decreasing curriculum content to increase flexibility and foster constructive learning.
- The main goal is to encourage practical and hands-on learning while reducing the amount of work that students must do in the classroom.
- The criteria for rationalizing content were presented by Union Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi. These included considerations for content overlap, repetition, difficulty level, accessibility for self-learning, relevance, and alignment with learning outcomes.
