CBSE Class 12 History Deleted Syllabus 2023-24 : Central Board of Secondary Education revised the Class 12 History syllabus for the academic year 2023-24 along with other subjects in the three streams, Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. The Board revised the CBSE Class 12 syllabus by 30% in the academic year 2022-23. This year as well, the board continued with the same changes. CBSE 12th History syllabus 2023-24 comprises 4 units wherein the first three units are Themes in Indian History Part-I, II, and III carrying 25 marks each. The fourth unit is Maps, carrying 5 marks. Each of the three units carries 4 chapters. Thus the theory paper will be conducted for 80 marks, and the remaining 20 marks will be based on the project work.
The chapters included in the CBSE Class 12 History syllabus 2023-24 are- The Mughal Court: Reconstructing Histories through Chronicles, Colonialism and Indian Towns: Town Plans and Municipal Reports, etc. Under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), CBSE introduced a new curriculum, which will only focus on the key concepts, critical thinking, application-based, and problem solving chapters. There will be 40% competency-focused questions (case-based or source-based), 20% response-type questions (MCQs), and 40% short and long answer-type questions. - Make an effective study plan for the exam allotting equal time and follow it till the end.
