CBSE Class 12th History Chapter 8 - Peasants, zamindars, and the States Agrarian Society and the Mughal Empire is included in the second theme of the syllabus. There are a total of three themes included in the syllabus and each theme will carry 25 marks, the remaining 5 marks are awarded for the map-based questions. The theory paper in History will be conducted for 80 marks. The duration of the paper will be three hours and 15 minutes will be provided to the students to read the question paper. 20 marks are provided for internal assessment. The specific objective of chapter 8 is to discuss the developments in agrarian relations, discuss how to supplement official documents with other sources, learn about the agrarian changes that occurred during the 16th and 17th centuries, and explain the changes and the differences in the agrarian sectors.
The History paper will be divided into 5 sections. The question paper will be a mix of MCQs and subjective-type questions. Section A will consist of 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each. Section B will consist of questions number 22 to 27 carrying 3 marks each. Section C will consist of long answer-type questions for 8 marks each. Section D will consist of source-based questions from 31 to 33 with 4 marks each. The question paper will consist of 40% competency-based questions according to the new rules and regulations set by the Central Board of Secondary Education for class 12th. Lastly, one map-based question for 5 marks will be included in the question paper. Students must attempt all the questions and there is no overall choice provided in the question paper. The question paper will include instructions before every section to be read carefully.
According to the date sheet released by CBSE, the class 12th board exams will be conducted from February 15 to April 4, 2025. The CBSE Class 12 History Exam will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
