CBSE Class 12th Chemistry Chapter 9 - Amines is an important chapter in the curriculum. The theory paper of Chemistry will be conducted for 70 marks, and the remaining marks are provided for the practical exam. Chapter 9 will carry 6 marks in the theory paper for Chemistry, so it must be prepared thoroughly. The following topics are included in the chapter according to the latest syllabus released by the Central Board of Secondary Education: Nomenclature, classification, structure, methods of preparation, physical and chemical properties, uses, and identification of primary, secondary, and tertiary amines. The question paper will be a blend of MCQs, very short answer type questions, short answer type questions, and long answer type questions. There will be no overall choice included in the question paper however, 33% internal choices will be included.
The instructions to attempt the question paper will be printed at the top of the question paper and also before each section. It is also important to give equal focus to the practical exams since they will account for 30% of the marks for the subject. For the practical exam, the following parameters will be considered: Identification/Familiarity with the apparatus for 5 marks, written test (based on given/prescribed practicals) for 10 marks, Practical Record for 5 marks, and Viva for 10 marks. According to the rules and regulations shared by the Central Board of Secondary Education, for subjects with practical work, you are required to score 33% marks separately in theory and practical exams to be eligible for the passing certificate. The Central Board of Secondary Education has already released the class 12th date sheet on the official website, so make sure to download the latest PDF to prepare accordingly.
